Compare the amount of threads in /b/ and everything else and Mabinogi threads and you can really see a difference. It's not a promising sign.

I do understand that this place has a number of people who quit mabi though, and their needs have to be catered for as well. It's just that since this is a Mabinogi forum, more needs to be done about bringing in people who are interested in the game, otherwise the forum might risk dying soon enough.

From personal experiences, spam events shouldn't exist at all.

The RP awareness is pretty fun though. I used to RP a lot as a kid so it really makes me feel youthful again. Though, make it less of a common place; like I posted in a thread somewhere, it'll confuse new members.

It'd probably be better if all this stuff is separated, not all of us like anime or internet meme and whatever. While I do occasionally look at the randomness that flows in here, it does get annoying at times when I'm here -at a Mabinogi fansite- because of Mabinogi.
Keep the cliq discussions limited to non-Mabi sections, and maybe divide the "New Posts" into three sections - Mabi, Mabi Market, and Other

While yes, this is a Mabinogi fansite, but when things are going slowly in game, there's not going to be a whole lot of discussion about said game. We've had this update for two weeks now, so pretty much everything about it has been explored. The current event is boring as hell, so there's not going to be a lot of discussion about that anymore, and there's a good amount of people who've left the game, either permanently or just until new updates/events comes out. So considering these things, it's obvious that there will be more threads and things happening that aren't about Mabinogi than there are about the game.

And plus as said, if you think that the spamming boom was ridiculous, then avoid it. Most of the spamming and the RP were contained within the Spam Zone and the RP Event thread, so if you know that, and don't want to deal with it, then you can easily avoid it. Sure, we may have gotten out of hand with the number of new threads and how stupid those threads were, but it's not like it was getting in the way of people who are too serious with life, especially on 4/20, which is not necessarily about smoking a little ganja, but meant for a day for everyone to chill out and relax, man.

I agree with Arsik's post entirely. Though in all honesty the spam day thing was mainly just a joke, being that we had such a large amount of activity in the spam section yesterday. The only thing officially circumventing would be the RP event, and in all honestly that's just because we have so many people actively participating. I'm not going to be standing around here making a perfect balance between Mabi threads and Non-Mabi threads, that's just too silly and unneeded. Just about everyone here has played Mabi at one point or another, and that is the common thing that brings us together. But if we want to talk about Mabi or something else, I find no real reason to restrict it. The important part is that everyone is having a good time or is being supported with their needs on Mabi; which in my eyes is absolutely being fulfilled. Believe me there are plenty of other inactive forums. Not nearly as many threads if you know what I mean. Regardless, the next portion of the event, it looks like Mabinogi NPC's are going to win no matter what, so that is an opportunity for everyone. ~ But for Shadow, if you feel this much activity compared to the past Guru is overwhelming, I understand.

Agreed with you both. For me, I'm enjoying the activity however random it may be because the last few weeks have been very frightening in an "oh my god I don't want to lose this community" sense. Even if it's a little overwhelming, it's... strangely heartwarming to see everyone enjoying this place with one another. It speaks volumes about how dedicated we are, not to the game, but to each other, and that is far more important than balanced content right now, in my eyes. This activity is a proverbial sigh of relief. Things will calm down and settle back into normalcy with a nice game update or event, and as long as we keep putting ourselves out there to attract new members we'll have a steady stream of mabi-related stuff to counter the randomness. :3

I also agree with Arsik where he says that Mabi is kind of slow right now, and there isn't much content at the moment. In my opinion, I think that there should be more recruiting-type forum events, instead of events based on obscure holidays, but I'm sure this was a spur-of-the-moment event, and there will be plenty of more useful/meaningful events to come. That way, more people who join will actually contribute, instead of looking at Mabimarket and /b/. Those contributions will eventually improve the forum quality, to the point where it exceeds that of Mabiguru's, which I'm sure it will. Anyway, I hope you rejoin us soon fox. I'll be on the lookout for you cool siggy.
