Medaka Kurokami, the recently elected student council president, has instituted a suggestion box in order to collect suggestions and improvements from fellow academy students. Together with Zenkichi Hitoyoshi, she solves problems, from finding lost dogs to cleaning up club buildings and even fixing personalities. As the student suggestions become numerous and more involved, more members are recruited, not only to help out with the suggestions but also to assist with student council tasks. ~Wikipedia

If I had to compare it, I'd call Medaka Box a Haruhi Suzumiya (http://www.mangafox.com/manga/the_melancholy_of_haruhi_suzumiya/) plus Seitokai no Ichizon (http://www.mangafox.com/manga/seitokai_no_ichizon/).

Here we have the person that wants to help everyone around her, dragging along side her an unwilling male friend. To make matters worse (or better?) she's the Student Council President.

Turns out this is one of the better mangas i've read in a long while.

Just started reading this, about half way through with all of whats currently out (just finished getting out of that underground thing) and man, did not expect such a big change in the story. At first I thought it'd just be one of those Slice of Life style shounen jumps but... after meeting that leader kid (who uses the super balls) everything pretty much change.

Kumagawa is so awesome, he's getting his own spin off manga.

According to Jump NEXT magazine, a spin-off manga of Medaka Box (http://myanimelist.net/manga/13949/Medaka_Box) featuring Kumagawa Misogi (http://myanimelist.net/character/36753/Misogi_Kumagawa) was announced to be published on December 26th in the next issue of the magazine. The title is "Good Loser Kumagawa" and the authors are the same as the original manga.
