That happened to me looooong ago with my gold, silver, AND crystal. That's one of the main reasons that I bought soul silver. =x

...When I was a kid, I would never close my GBA, so I had to keep recharging it...Pokemon Diamond Memories...

I've never played Pokemon before.

Except once when I was a kid.

I loved it.

I had Jade. I was disappointed that it wasn't a real pokemon game, but it was still fun. Not to mention I bought a pirated Crystal one day, horribly translated and the in game clock broke after a week, not to mention renamed move names and Japanese Romanji Pokemon names but I was a kid back then and 1000 PhP (about 20 USD) was cheap for that game D:

That happened to me.
I found my pokemon silver game. So many memories ;-;
I decided to start it up. For some reason, I abandoned my started pokemon and caught a Pidgey, so my main pokemon was a pidgey I never evolved :3
And then that error message.
I almost cried.

May I ask, what is this battery you speak of?

I've never played Pokemon games, so I would not know.

Battery that is built into the game cart so it can keep track of time, because the GBC didn't have a built in time system. If the battery runs out it doesn't let you save.
