I'd like to listen to my own music in-game, but I really like to have the in-game sound on and I CAN'T STAND when the game's boss music turns on and clashes with whatever I have playing. Unfortunately there is no "Mute Music" option (at least none that I can find) so I usually have to turn off my music before I start a dungeon.

Which leads me to my question, has anyone actually found a way to disable the music in-game without muting it entirely?

The in-game sound helps with timing attacks and dodging bosses, as well as crits, so I really don't find it to be an option to mute the game sound entirely. But the lack of music until you fight a boss kinda leaves me wanting to jam out, which I can't do once the game music actually kicks in.

There's no way to mute the BGM and not the sound effects. It's either both or none.

Never done it before, so it might be a good idea to create a backup.
It might also be against the ToS, although they have no way to detect it.

I just made a new folder in the bgm folder and put all the music in there, so I can put it back if I ever want to.

EDIT: That didn't work, haha, I'll try something else.

EDIT2: Moved it up a subfolder and it seems to be working!
