You've adventured into the world of Mabinogi for a long time. Fought wars, learned your craft, and even gained the favor of the goddess. Don't you think it's time you settle down and start a family?

The family system is here! Similar to a guild, the Family System allows a small group of friends to gather under specific beliefs and values, drawing strength from those they trust most.

In order to start a family, you must be married. Once this is complete, talk to Sinead, who will sell you a "Family Emblem". It will look just like this! This Family Emblem is blank. Adopt other Mabinogians into your family and declare a custom. Let's fill these in and see what we get...

Behold! A full and happy family! Every family has their own beliefs. This one believes "Ladies First" and will never harm a female creature in Erinn. Family members that fail this will be stricken by a bolt of lightning from the heavens. Yow!

There's a benefit to being in such a family, though. Everyone gets a free title, as well as the power to summon any family member to your current location. Handy!

The family that adventures together, stays together! Look for the Family System in the next update: "Return of the Hero".

Not all my mabi children would fit on there... Mabi has a six-child policy!! I refuse to limit my family T_T

It's already annoying enough, but this is making it worse. I guess the benefits you get from this is alright......

I don't think the lightning actually hurts you, it's just embarrassing.

There's one called don't drop items as the family motto is to become rich by being conservative of items.
Or no drinking of hp/sp/mp potions whatsoever.

I think the summoning is only available to the mum/dad, so I'm not too sure if Osay's idea can be abused like that.

It doesn't kill you or affect you in any way, it's a pretty fast animation that takes place together with the offending action.
Mostly for fun.

I think it will be a distraction but it shouldn't screw up in combat.
You can always have no family rules.
My family (with no children yet) have no rules because I dislike the lightning animation.

"If you break the family's motto, thunder will strike down on you and blacken your body.
The thunder will do no damage
The blackening effect is temporary (like an action?) "

My family is probably gonna be my guild+random friends...

Or I'll be adopted by my other friend :D

Wonder if spouses can be in the same family if they're not the parents...
