Speak Chinese With Me!

I'm currently learning how to speak Chinese (because there's no one around who can teach my native language), but I'm not very good. It would be super cool if there someone on the Nation who I could practice with.

Also, if you can't speak Chinese then go make me a sammich, tuna melt please talk to me with english instead.

Also, I had to write a fake letter to someone for my class, and I just put mine through google translate. So lulzy.

I knew some fun people who spoke Cantonese, but I can only speak mandarin D:
One of them was a calligrapher. His characters were so fantastic!
Someone at the university offers to teach me Cantonese, but I don't think I can handle two languages at once.

Yeahh they dont' teach traditional in schools often @__@; But my teacher teaches both! :D We have the simplified books, and for traditional lovers, he gives out handouts, so it's all good. Plus, my mom used to teach me traditional at home :D

Good food/mall/grocery stores here are Korean :(
But Korean stores in general are higher quality at least.

It's quite common with overseas chinese..
Mostly because of the lack of exposure to chinese, or just the lack of interest in it.

Some people take along the mindset that if English does everything for them, why is there even a need to learn chinese?
But that is starting to change due to the rising power of China.

With or without this, I still want to learn Chinese as much as I can since it is part of my heritage.

You can always will yourself to learn it if you want.
I was speaking in bits of broken pieces back then and couldn't speak chinese fluently until I was 12.

But Korean stores in general are higher quality at least.

99 Ranch Market mang. That's the only market around here that competes with the Korean markets.

I prefer Traditional over Simplified. I just grew up with it, and it's what I see in Taiwan. I also don't like Pinyin because I think it should be written the way it's pronounced, but I just think bopomofo is superior.
