View Full Version : Looking for more MMOs to Play

It's amazing how hyped I was to get back into Mabi just to get bored of it again within a day (Well not really, all I really did was afk fish). In all honesty, I'm just looking for new alternative MMOs to play when I'm bored. Here's what I'm currently thinking about getting back into :
Lunia - Er, yeah. I used to play that, and I heard a bunch of new stuff released. I wanna try out playing that girl who dual wields or that dude who has guns. Not too interested in that new character.
Genesis AD - I heard from a friend that it's a better version of Combat Arms. My account is banned on Combat Arms (Or at least my character is suspended) so may as well try.
Dungeon and Fighter - The only character I've really played on DnF was the Gunner. Because I love guns, especially pistols, but I guess I could try the Mage.
Well that's all that comes to mind. I quit Maplestory just because my NX expired and I didn't feel like buying more NX for it since I got bored of grinding on Maple again. Other then that, I'll also take suggestions for other games besides MMOs to play, like Left 4 Dead 2 for example (New DLC is free for PC. TAKE THAT CONSOLE PLAYERS!).

Played Grand Fantasia beta and it's reaaaally boring. It's pretty much grinding but at a level worse than maple. Plus the GUI is horrible. I also played Dragonica beta and it felt like maple gone right. I got really frustrated it at though because you had to do missions pretty much flawlessly to finish quests, and I'm a huge perfectionist, so I figured the game and I didn't match.
Some good MMOs that I'll probably go back to someday are Perfect World and DnD Online. DDO is really pretty good but I got bored of repeating the same missions over again on each difficulty level. Also you have to pay to unlock dungeons after level 4 (which is like level 20 in a normal MMO)

S4 is okay if you're into high techy guns and stuff.
Unfortunately, you'd have to play a foreign server.

DFO is still waiting on a few more updates before its playable.
I'm always hearing good things about Huxely.
Overall we're all kinda waiting on the next generation of mmo's.
Seriously, the ones we have now all suck.
Definitely staring at Dragon Nest, C9, Mabinogi Heroes, and Blade & Soul.
I hear Dragonball Online is actually far better than people expected.

Cabal Online, it has a pretty decent story for the first 100 levels or so that you can keep yourself busy.

Grand Chase?
Haven't played many good games, but when I went out MMO hunting I stuck with this one the longest.
It's pretty fast-paced, sort of arcade styled.
You start out with 3 characters. I wouldn't care to remember their names, but you get one of each basic class - Warrior, mage and archer. Eventually you get quests that unlock some of the other characters, eg. druid, spell warrior, dancer.
The combat system is basically the same as an arcade game. You get attacks like dash, Z-up, Z-down, jump-Z, whatever.
It's a pretty cool game. Definitely something worth trying out.

Yeah, definitely looks cool. This is what Fallout online should look like.

I got Rohan to level 31 and then quit...It's fun at first, but then get's boring...Mabi has been the longest game I sticked with ( 1-2 Years)...Though I played CS:S since it was in beta phrase or so (8500$ Desert Eagle)...
Yes, I see whats wrong here. You people play f2p MMO's, I can only think of 2 f2p mmos that are good (released in NA), and that's mabi and dfo.

The truest quote ever.

Everquest I & II.
Eve Online.
Ultima Online.
LOTRO.
Warhammer.
Dungeon & Dragons (Technically f2p, but meh, I consider it p2enjoy, unless you have a lot of patience.)
Dofus.
These are the ones I can think of that can be payed without paypal (Alternative payment processing, pay online without a credit card. PayByCash (http://www.paybycash.com))
And all of them are good. My favorite from that list is UO, one of the greatest MMOs created. There's much controversy about the updates EA did to the game after origins died, but basically, it screwed pvp, but pve became more meaningful, and with much more content.
Eve Online is also a great game, personally didn't like it, because sci-fi it's not my thing (with the exception of star wars), but it has an enormous range of things and opportunities, can be a real ***** to get started though.
Dofus is really fun if you enjoy tactical turn-based combat, if you are a graphic whore, then gtfo.
Everquest games are historically important in the MMORPG world, and they are still going strong, they both have good instance gameplay, where's there's more than just healer+tank+dps type of characters needed.
edit:
Oh and Age of conan, it had a really bad start, but has gotten better now. Has an interesting combat system, and fun gameplay, but the end-content needs to get better yet.

if the cat has the manpower and money
the cat would make a FPS
where you can pilot mechas, planes, fight as infantry, and command tanks.

Everquest is old. Like, most f2p games have what everquest has now. But yes, its a quality game.
Eve Online is hardcore madness. This game can either be amazing for you, or terrible for you. I won't hesitate to admit that this mmo is one of the most ridiculously vast and economy driven games I've ever seen. The downside is that this isn't a game of constant action, but rather building up your own personal empire.
I heard good and bad things about Warhammer.
And I heard D&D is pretty good stuff.
The big downside to p2p is that I've yet to find one thats actually worth the money when you've got the free games, because overall they're essentially the same thing but with a little more quality and more staffing.
It would all depend on how serious you are about playing something, p2p can offer much more, not just in terms of game play, but support, community, regular updates (huge plus to me, usually f2p mmos have lame updates, or they take months for an update).
And they are usually cheap, anyone with any kind of job can pay 50 cents a day.

Seriously, the ones we have now all suck.I completely agree. Imo Mab is currently the best game out there (or else I wouldn't be playing it), but everyone's still waiting for the game that will take over WoW. Because not many people play WoW seriously anymore, but for some reason it's still the biggest MMO out there. I'm quite looking forward to Dragon's Nest though.
Also, out of the few games I would consider playing, it's pretty much pointless to play them because a majority of the community is endgame. Mab, on the other hand, seems to have a lot of fresh blood, and it's really hard to get to endgame.

I like to play DFO and am considering playing Mabinogi later and maybe getting better at HoN to play with my brother. The reason is that you don't get tired of DFO cause of the PvP system.

Pika pi pikachu. Pi pika. Pikachu pi.
(Pika has decided on what MMO to play to pass the time...Lunia o3o; It's surprisingly entertaining, but there's one thing bugging Pika - How overpowered the new character is. Pika seriously solo'd Pika's way through every stage to level 37 in 3 hours without dying. Either that's overpowered or everything's been debuffed from the last time Pika played. Not to mention how annoying controls are to get used to. Pika would prefer skills to be more comfortable to use rather than having to fumble over a row of keys to launch skills. It's harder to pull combos that way.)
Pi pikachu. Pika.
(Oh yeah, still taking suggestions, as a matter of fact, suggest other games besides MMOs now. Pika started saving now that Pika isn't buying anything good at the moment (Besides Mtn Dew).)
