Lann solo

I have a level 34 sword Lann and it feels like when i solo i finish missions a lot slower than if my friends and have less survivability (who use a scythe evie or longsword fiona). I'm not the greatest dodger out there, pretty bad actually, so is it a matter of me playing lann poorly? It feels like my dps is pretty bad compared to the rest of the characters

I agree with this actually, I think spear Lann is a lot more viable but that's probably just me.

Spear Lann has a lot more damage, but a lot less survivability along with that damage. Sword Lann can dodge easily if you know how, but the damage is a little lacking.

Double Crescent is funtimes though.

Spear lann is more focused on dps
Sword lann in the right hands can do some crazy stuff with slip dash
The dps thing is expected
The survivability is more on your part
Practice makes perfect
Also remember fi has blocking making her tank alot more
Scythe evie has evies bulit in mana shields basicly a second hp bar and blink which is excellent dodge skill

Im kind of disappointed then.
I love lann but it seems 1v1 against bosses fiona has incredible kd ability with her counterattack and survivability with her shield, and still out dps'es me.
And scythe evie has five mana shields with a wisp (albeit weak, serves as a decent distraction), and blink (with high stamina cost but acting as an amazing dodge), while still having great dps with her moves and can actually semi-knockdown too.
I dunno maybe lann just isnt the character for me

Sword Lanns are seriously insane later on when they get 0.3s invincibility frames. Assuming you can use them, that is...

Apparently the mana shields don't that matter much later on because it doesn't scale with the character's level.

Yeah, but no damage you ever take will reduce both your shields and your health. For things that can OHKO any character (2k+ damage) or any massive amount of damage that is sure to come in future chapters Evie can shrug the first one off like nothing, and have her shields regenerate less than a minute later.

Slip dash with double cresent
Use frames of no damage and return a counter attack
With like 120 stamina you could do like 3 or 4 combos like this or even more if you dont use double cresent

Nice vid. Now I can look forward to when they uncap slip dash.

Right now spears are generally used because bosses are pretty easy still and slip dash cap at rA is stupid.
20 stamina for 2 dashes with low invincible time + shorter distance than roll makes it pretty unreliable and worthless for now.

You can use any potion while running.
