A new HR teacher, Chun-woo is a nothing ordinary with his wily ambitions and neglect of a bullied boy, Shin-woo. However, after unexpectedly witnessing his great power, Shin-woo begs him to learn it. They could start their lesson only after Shin-woo throws his body into deep river to prove his will. However, Shin-woo did not know his master is stronger than he can imagine. He was a killer with mastery of nine martial arts who was hiding himself after a big mission!

From what I've gathered, it's like a Korean style GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka), only with some Kenpachi the Histories Strongest Disciple. A weak protagonist student becoming some unbeatable leader type, typical of a series, just with some Martial Arts.

The theory from the Forums was and is:

The Master loved his Disciple with a 'tough love,' kind of relationship. The Master not only wanted to protect the Disciple, but remove him from the dangers of the world of Murim by making it so he could never enter it again. In thus, not being able to learn martial arts and being handed the legacy of the Black Heaven and Earth style that was sought out so vigorously by the society of Murim, the Disciple is safely hidden in ignorance.

That is a different kind of tough love, transcending into awkward love. But yeah, the Master is still a douche, even if it was one of the best ways to prevent further harm coming to his student.

He is being protected from the Murim, for now.
People are still trying to assassinate him for revenge.
If the Murim really just label him as a lost caused and leaves him be, I am sure someone will try to assassinate him for revenge, even if there is consequences.
And the way the Murim handles things, it would probably be more normal to dispose of him if he is deemed useless, that is what I think at least. Unless he will constantly be protected by the Murim.
I mean, I do not see a reason they would let him live, unless the 3 arts master and yaoi guy, even that fish faced sword guy starts defending him all... And that someone would want revenge on him because his master kill their master, even if the nine arts abandoned his disciple.
