View Full Version : Best Dual-Wielding Combination?
I want to dual wield swords, not blunts, so that leaves me with Gladius, Daggers, and Bastards.
I want to know which can critical hit easily, since that's the first skill I will rank up, has a good minimum attack, and er, is good for lower levels but can still last till you're pro?
And please, don't talk about shields, blunts, because I like swords...

I recommend dual gladius. 230 proficiency upgrade pathway. It will last you throughout your low-dex days in Mabinogi.
Even pros use it. Mostly the pros that don't have enough dex to wield 222 broadswords.
You'll want final hit skill as a friend if you like dual-wielding swords that much.

Dual Gladius are good for beginners and still hold its own later. However, if you want critical, Broadswords are probably the best at this.
In low level monsters, Gladius and some stiff tail cap will allow you to critical pretty easily.
Broadswords ...
But - My dex is too low, atm, correct? I mean, even when I age, I get no dex.
So Gladius - Next best?

Yea, pretty much. Gladius are really good for beginners due to high balance and high minimum damage.

If you can't afford gladius at the start, I recommend flute short swords.
They are normal speed I guess so you can attempt to deal up to 7 hits to enemy for N+1 attacks. I don't really know what N+1 means but that's what they call it.

I personally use daggers ^o^ but Gladii are the best to dual wield.

Just got I has 10k now. :thumb:

N+1 is when you do a normal attack plus 1 xD. But seriously, it's when say, you slash with any weapon...ahh example time. I slashed a monster with my Dragon Balde, but then I stop and wait until I get back into the combat animation, then I slash again and then again and that was 3 hits instead of 2. You just gotta learn how to time it right to get the extra hits. The slower the weapon is, the longer you can wait till you hit again; The slowest being Very Slow, you can wait until your back into the normal combat stance, with slow weapons, it's similar, but more like the instant you get in that stance, hit again like with a Very Slow weapon, Normal and Fast are harder to do it with, but it's pretty fun too. (N+1+Wm with daggers on a Bear is lots of fun).

Which is best for Final Hit? Daggers?
Yep because of the fast attack speed & high critical. Daggers are more about spamming crits than anything else.
Gladius' are best until you have the 200+ dex for broads. That or you could try your luck/buy some war swords that have a 0-88 path with high balance (52 balance) and 5% critical with a gem upgrade can be 10% critical. IMO a very awesome option for a pre-broadsword weapon while also not needing the massive dex. It comes at a cost however, and 8 base durability is not enough for a lot of people (if you synthesize one though you can choose a path that adds to durability).

200+ DEX! -Faints- This might take a while.
But, erm, I think I'll stick with Gladius.

Which is best for Final Hit? Daggers?
It's a toss-up between the high max damage from Beholder Swords and high crit from Daggers. Make your pick.

Well Broads are mostly endgame. Just make sure to rank wm1 n refine1 first blah blah blah
Oh. Well,I guess then I'll just do everything natrually and not ulta-spam dex. :]]
WM - I think I'm Rank D, but I still have today to get to Rank C (or maybe B!!)

yeah, now you just need 126.
Refining, Production mastery and Sword mastery nets you 72dex. And an age 17 human starts with 25dex. You can easily get the last bit you need by leveling or ranking dex giving skills like weaving or counter.

Aside from max sword ego and elsinore sword, the best dual wield combo is two good artisaned battle swords. The str bonuses stack!

The best combination is actually the sword of elsinore coupled with an upgraded/enchanted battle sword. A spirit muramasa/bastard sword would also work well if you're not into hunting snow webs.
Generally,
Gladius > Broad sword > Spirit Sword/Battle Swords
...is the natural progression for warriors.

just a heads up, even with r1 SM and CM, you still need like 180+ dex to wield all swords. my swords have like 10-11% balance and I have only 73% balance with 132 dex r1 CM and SM.
