Which elementals are most commonly used? Meh, I use lightning but I seem to see less Ice elementaled monsters so should i change to ice? seeing as that will be a big advantage in shadow missions

i tried ice enchanting myself for shadow missions, but that ended up badly
cuz ice elemental also makes you weak against fire, thus whenever the shadow mob hits you, the damages are like 100s
so i would use fire elemental and maybe ice for weapons

yeah i dont know if it's the best thing to do but i fire some equips for sm's too. not everything~ just 2 xD i dont want my offensive attacks to be too weak against them. the rest i try to leave neutral. the only other elemntals i use is 9 ices on my equips for wyvern hunting.

Mixing elementals does nothing productive -- they cancel each other out. They're only effective when you use only one type.
Making yourself Fire-elemental will make you invincible to the Shadow Wizards' Firebolts, but will make you deal significantly less damage to Fire-type enemies assuming you're using melee or range (just another perk of being a mage; you can use elementals for immunity to certain attacks without harming the effectiveness of your attacks).

I'd recommend all ice. I actually see people use ice more than anything else.

Personally, all of my equips are fire except for my hobnail knucks which are non. In Shadow Missions, those shadow wizards firebolts make me laugh and I always manage to live the longest.

Only for pvp or Par Snow Crystal though. That sounds like SM suicide otherwise.

Depends. Physical damage change is the same for both you and the enemy, you kill them faster and they kill you faster. Since you're the one getting the first hit (hopefully), this works to your advantage since you should be able to keep your combo going until they're dead.
Magical attacks should be the focus of the entire party. A Shadow Wizard should never have enough time to cast a 2.5 second Firebolt, that's what you have pets for. It's rare that your entire party plus all their pets are occupied at the same time, so magic damage isn't a threat to the use of Ice elements.
However, enchanting Fire is still a plausible idea. Immunity is never a bad thing.

From my experience elementals are BEST use in the perspective of defense. If you like running shadow missions alot enchant all your items with fire elementals. DO NOT enchant your weapons unless you use lightning elementals for proffing. The best shadow mission armor is any armor enchanted with fire.

Because apparently, someone doesn't know that regardless of whether or not your weapons are enchanted with an element, all elements currently enchanted on ANY gear you're wearing add up (assuming all are of the same type) and affect melee/range attacks. Using multiple types of elementals does absolutely nothing but cancel the different elements out.
