(This is map of the boss room. 1o' means 1 o'clock, 7o' means 7 o'clock as in direction and two Korean letters on the bottom means entrance.)

What you need to know prepare for this raid.
Items: Spear, Party Revival Feather, Phoenix Feather, HP Potions and maybe Campfire Kit if you want.
You need to bring spears to break Laghodessa's leg and bring Party Revival Feather along with Phoenix Feather.
Your party members could die in a blink and it is important to revive them as soon as possible when you are fighting Laghodessa.

Teamwork is a must in this Raid.
Don't act on your own. Play as a group.
If you don't, your party is most likely to fail this raid.
Take time, stay focused and don't try to be a hero.
Learn to sacrifice yourself for the successful raid run.

Tanker: It's really hard to beat this raid without tanker.
When you enter the boss map, tanker will lure Laghodessa or both bosses to the corner at 1 o'clock and die.
While tanker is doing that, you must move to the corner at the 7 o'clock.
But REMEMBER. When you enter the boss room, don't even move a little bit. Just don't press any button at all! Just freeze.
Stay still and do nothing until tanker successfully aggro the bosses and start to lure them to the other side of the corner.
Once the tanker successfully lure and park Laghodessa or both bosses at the corner of 1 o'clock and die,
they will be unable to recognize you even if you use items or attack them with secondary weapons as long as you keep the distance from them.
So always stay away about 40~50M from them.
If you get close to them around 35M, they will recognize you and your party will be in panic.
Anyways, move to corner of 1 o'clock when Laghodessa or both bosses are aggro-ed to tanker, but don't use any items yet! you could aggro them.
Fiona is good for this role since she can stay alive longer and give your party members more time to move to 7 o'clock.

Runner: After your party have successfully parked the bosses and start spearing to break Laghodessa's leg from far away,
Laghodessa will get knocked down by spears time to time if you fail to hit the right spot.
When Laghodessa is knocked down, these runners will rush to this red Giant Spider and lure it to 7 o'clock before Laghodessa stand up.
They need to remember that they should not go too far.
If runner fail to come back before Laghodessa stand up and lure it out, things could get complicated.

Dribble: You must have noticed in Hidden that when you hit the Giant Spider several times, it gets pushed back.
It happens when you hit the front, back, left or right side of the Giant Spider and Laghodessa several times in a row.
We use this method to make Giant Spider and Laghodessa unable to attack us.
If you stack the damage on other side and it's higher than what your party members have stacked in their side,
the spider will be pushed back to opposite direction. So please remain and attack on the same side where you party members are attacking.

1ST MAP
Five Spider Brothers appear in this map and they shouldn't be any problem beating them.

BOSS MAP
http://upload.inven.co.kr/upload/2010/04/04/bbs/i38825928.jpg
(Red Giant Spider and Laghodessa in picture as red and green circle is roaring. Except tanker in blue, all party members need to stay still and freeze.)
(PS. Tanker don't have to be the person in that spot as in the picture.)

When intro scene is over, tanker have to aggro Laghodessa by using feather or hit it's front leg and lure it to 1 o'clock.
If you are not the tanker, you can't move yet. Stay still.

http://upload.inven.co.kr/upload/2010/04/04/bbs/i35740438.jpg

(Tanker alone aggros Laghodessa and is fleeing to the corner of 1 o'clock. Other party members are still not moving.)

At this point, if someone move, you could still aggro Laghodessa.
So stay still until Laghodessa is going after tanker.

Laghodessa could move and attack forward even if tanker have tried to agrro it.
In this case, just flee to 7 o'clock, DON'T attack and DON'T use any items. Just dodge.
If you think tanker is going to die soon and Laghodessa is in 1 o'clock, rush toward 7 o'clock whether tanker have failed or succeed.

http://upload.inven.co.kr/upload/2010/04/04/bbs/i34325419.jpg

(red Giant Spider and Laghodessa is being lured by tanker and tanker have parked in the corner with Heavy Stander.)

While party members are staying still, tanker lure the bosses to 1 o'clock.
When you see bosses are aggro-ed and attacking tanker, rush to 7 o'clock fast and stay there. Do nothing. Far the better.

There's always chance things might not work as planned.
If Laghodess rush toward party members instead to tanker, DON'T ATTACK.
If you think Laghodessa is aggro-ed to you, just run toward where tanker is to 1 o'clock and prepare to die with tanker in the corner!
- In this case, tanker need be in corner at 1 o'clock and keep using feathers. Use feather and cancel it by dodging(space). Repeat this.
If you think red Giant Spider is aggro-ed to you, run toward 7 o'clock.

http://upload.inven.co.kr/upload/2010/04/04/bbs/i31275159.jpg

(Tanker have parked both bosses and they are not able to recognize you from far away.)

http://upload.inven.co.kr/upload/2010/04/04/bbs/i39880108.jpg

(yellow line: where spears fly, red line: where bosses move.
1. Tanker is daed, 2. Now you can start spearing.)

To break Laghodessa's leg, you need to spear Laghodessa's front right leg.
Take turn one by one to spear it. Don't just start spearing all at once. If you hit the leg right, Laghodessa will screams.
While first person is spearing, set up campfire.

When you are spearing, try not to waste your spears.
Throw your spear right after it stopped moving and when it's roaring.
Dungeon clear time is not important. Take time!

http://upload.inven.co.kr/upload/2010/04/04/bbs/i27100602.jpg

(How to hit the right place 30-35M away from Laghodessa. You have to stay back more for safety so throw it higher than this.
Take a look at the vid if you don't get it.
Red line: how to aim your spear, blue circle: where it breaks.)

Stay away from Laghodessa more than 35M.

http://upload.inven.co.kr/upload/2010/04/04/bbs/i33998308.jpg

(Laghodessa is knocked down by spears.
Runners who was preparing to run at the red line rush forward to 1 o'clock and aggro red Giant Spider. Lure it to 7 o'clock.)

By doing so just like in the picture, you will separate the bosses and it will be easier to kill them.
If you were spearing, don't bother. Wait until all runners come back to 7 o'clock.
If you are going to run and lure red Giant Spider, aggro it using feathers and come back before Laghodessa stands up.
Runners have to remember to Play safe. You might ruin everything.
Just come back to 7 o'clock whether you have failed or succeed to aggro red Giant Spider!
You should cross the crossline before it stand up.
If your runners have successfully lured red Giant Spider to 7 o'clock, dribble it to the corner and keep dribble it until it dies.

If both bosses were aggro-ed to someone while spearing or running, one or two person have to run toward 1 o'clock and revive tanker(s).
While your party is reviving dead people, try to lure bosses away from dead people where your party members are using feathers.
After you have revived all party members, stop using items and don't attack.
If you didn't aggro anything, go to 7 o'clock and prepare to dribble red Giant Spider to the corner and beat the crap out of it.
If you have aggro-ed red Giant Spider, lure it to corner of 7 o'clock and beat the crap out of it.
If you have aggro-ed Laghodessa or both bosses, lure it to 1 o'clock and make sure all party members are in safe zone at 7 o'clock before you die.

Once you are finished spearing Laghodessa, but if your party couldn't break the leg, you will have to break it 'manually' by attacking the leg with strong attacks. In this case, I recommend breaking it with Dash Smash. It's more accurate and have more mobility then other attacks.

If your party have successfully destroyed Laghodessa's leg, all party members need to rush forward and throw all spears at Laghodessa to knock it down. Then Dribblie it to death. When you do this, remember that it's best to dribble it in corners.
Don't be stingy with your spears!

Things you must beware.
1. Even if tanker failed to park the bosses. DON'T ATTACK.
Only time you can hit the Laghodessa is when you are spearing and when you are killing it at the end.
If you hitted it by accident, do as what I have wrote below.

If you have hit the Laghodessa, but it's not following you,
run around the center of the map near 1 o'clock and only come back to 7 o'clock after you make sure Laghodessa is following tanker.

If you have hit the Laghodessa and you have aggro-ed it,
Go to where tanker is spamming feather-cancel and die together with tanker at the corner of 1 o'clock.

2. Don't be self-centered.
If Laghodessa is after you, give up staying alive. Don't try to hand over the job to other party member by luring it to 7 o'clock where your party member is. Stay calm and be brave. You HAVE TO sacrifice yourself and park it with tanker at 1 o'clock. You HAVE TO die.

3. At the start, if you have lured the red Giant Spider and you are not tanker, IT'S GOOD!
If tanker have aggro-ed the Laghodessa, but red Giant Spider is chasing other party member who is not tanker.
Don't panic. Don't think the game is over. This is the best condition we can have in this raid.
We have to separate these two bosses later anyways, but it's very risky to do it.
This way, they are already separated and we don't have to take the risk!
It will shorten our dungeon clear time also.

If you have aggro-ed the red Giant Spider, don't cross the crossline and you MUST hit it atleast once then lure it to 7 o'clock.
You know what to do next. Dribble it to the corner and beat the crap out of it 8D
If it's aggro-ed to tanker again and goes back to 1 o'clock. Just let it go.

4. Don't use item before bosses are stably parked!
Only tanker is allowed to spam feathers. You can use feather only to revive your party member when things got messed up.
You are allow to set up campfire only when bosses are parked and someone is spearing.
Don't use any potions, unless bosses are stably parked or only thing left is to kill Laghodessa.

5. Don't dribble alone!
Only attack where your party members are attacking!
Your attack is almost useless if you do it alone.

6. JUST DON'T MOVE. DO NOTHING.
When you enter the boss room. Just do nothing. Don't even move a step.
Let your party's tanker do the job!

Non-Break Guide
Follow this guide if you don't care about the break-off from Laghodessa.

Honestly this one doesn't even need a guide. Just kill the first room then bumrush both spiders at the same time. With 8 people you can permanently knockback the spiders enough that they just die in a couple seconds.

Wow, I didn't realize this mission was that complicated O.o

This is going to be harder than I thought. I guess I'll just focus on spearing and staying still at the beginning. I just hope others read this and know what they are doing so I don't have a bunch of failsauce parties.

TA

Oh, there's gonna be failsauce parties... I can guarantee you that!

Ya I know, some people don't do their research or are shelfish, so I can imagine a lot of parties going sour. I probably shouldn't consider doing this on Hard probably

I demand obedience! ...At least for this Raid.

You guys should probably organize parties over at The Docks (http://mabination.com/forums/18-The-Docks) and leave discussion of the raid/guide here, otherwise it's gonna get filled with a bunch of useless stuff and will be harder for other people to find important information later.

okay I have yet to find a party who has done this correctly. However, on a side note...the break off seems to be a random drop as well so...

If you can't find a party who can follow this guide you can always bum rush spam and with some luck you'll get the break off.

Does recalling a golem with the "Get up!" command count as item usage? And is it recommended or not for this encounter?

My guessing (not tested, still re downloading) is that if the first lurer were an Evie, she could use the golem to get aggroed by Laghodessa on 1 o'clock, so she can lure the red spider to 7 o'clock. Could work, idk. It would cut the clear time by a lot tho.

Alright....... Through a bit of trial and error....... The easiest way to do it with a pug is just say to spear the front right leg of laghodessa and other than that bumrush. It goes pretty well... not hard.

Well I finally managed to find a good party who can do this correctly. Of course it doesn't always go out as planned each and every time. The best thing to do if it goes bad is to try to keep everyone alive and try your best to get it away from your team members. Fastest time with our group was 7-8 minutes using this method.

Idk, this method is pretty easy.

It's pretty long-winded for something that's just: stand still, let 1 lure; go nuts with spears till break off, bring a spider and kill, then kill other.

Most parties I've been in just kill to look for green shells. It's actually not that difficult.

I'm impressed by the amount of cooperation in that party.

NA players don't seem the type to be willing to work together.

They just want to do it their way, even it their way means no one gets anything at all.

You'd be surprised. There is a lot of quality NA players who will work as a team. I know when I'm in a party, I do my part to try to keep the party healed which isn't easy, but I do the best that I can.

I also don't mind sacrificing myself for the good of the team. For some reason, I really enjoy doing the support role. It really relieves me from a lot of stress.

lol, it's pretty straightforward.

Just ask when you enter a party if it's a luring or a "just kill" party. All parties I've seen so far at least had one person know about luring.

Also, luring doesn't take that much cooperation. It's just a simple affirmation before entering the boss room of who will tank and that everyone will stand still during the whole aggro into corner process.

The whole luring process, imo, isn't needed unless people don't know the mechanics of separating the spiders from each other and dodging spider attacks.

I just join PUGs and bum rush the spiders as often as I can.
I've already gotten over 100 tokens from reviving dead party members :D

I've gotten over 400k by selling Claws and Shells from doing the break off portion. So while you guys are doing it with PUG's I'm making a killing off of the claws.

newpants
12-15-2010, 08:50 PM
hmm 400k... guess prices won't be as high as red shells when boat 4 came out. Not as much profit =[

also, what's the avg time luring takes?

I know with a decent party, we can just bumrush for about 6 mins

I'd rather do many quick runs to get the more profitable green shells, 5 seals per run, and 20 AP.
It takes much longer focusing on getting the break off.

Not really. We get ours done in 7 - 8 minutes. Plus I'm aiming for the title.

I love this method, makes it so much easier to fight and it's not that difficult to get the breakoff. Takes an extra minute or two of effort to do it. I don't get what's so slow about it.

newpants
12-15-2010, 11:53 PM
It's slow because it's slower! duh.

No, but really, as long as people can play their char somewhat competently, it's fine to just bumrush. It's just as easy. An evie with a golem makes it even easier.

That's the main point. Though you're right, you do get more out of your tokens for items by luring.
...
Although, I was just in a kinda bad party that took 10 minutes.. lol.

Finally, I thought I was the only one that found that "bum rushing" the spider in pubs was quicker then this pull method, I guess there is always a chance of a bad group, but haven't got any yet. Pub games for me average around 6-8mins.

I just wish more people would do the luring so we could get the claw off. :/ I want the title, I know a lot of people say "oh it only adds 1 stat".. but dude. D: Those +1 titles add up after a while, and I like collecting things. It's also easier on the heals if the group knows what to do. I'm just happy that I usually party with two Fiona's that can lure/spear like no other. Even if sometimes we have a little "hiccup" in the party, lol. Stupid keyboard glitches. >_>;

I have 1.3mil now anyways and I got the title so I think I would feel safe retiring from the guide method and running it with PUG's. I got more than my fair share and fill

I don't rush it at all considering majority of the population is too stupid and have no clue how to play. Doing lure has been the best method and most consistent in completing the mission so far as long as the people aren't f*cking retarded.

TOO MANY F*CKING IDIOTS IN THIS GAME. SERIOUSLY STOP PLAYING IF YOU CAN'T EVEN FOLLOW SIMPLE INSTRUCTIONS!!!

I find that, for the most part, the parties in hard mode tend to run a lot smoother than the normal mode ones >_> since most of the more experienced players will opt to play in hard mode for the extra drops.
