Mabination's recognition has increased a lot thanks to the Vindictus section. As a result we have many new members (check out the Forest of Souls) participating in our forums. However, this also means we've had to deal with a lot of drama and rule breaking. We need more manpower to deal with this issue so former moderators have been upgraded to super moderators. Hopefully we'll see fewer problems and return to the same stability that we had around two months ago.
Just a heads up :>
Awesome.
So, are we ever going to have regular mods again?

Here's my reasoning, word for word, that Intex borrowed from and made it more friendly sounding:
I'm tired of all the ****ing drama that's been going on today, so I gave all the former mods more power so that they can help me rule with an iron fist until the community becomes what it was 2 months ago.
It's like no one even knows the rules around here anymore. I don't want to have to control people with an iron fist, but with each passing day, it's becoming the only way of getting the community to where it was when everyone was friends with each other, and at least made it look like they care about not just the site, but the community as well. So for the time being, all staff members now have guns that can do more than stun, and can now kill, and at will if you guys continue to keep wandering out of line. Hopefully, we can go back to being a site where the community regulates itself and can forget that it's starting to become a military state because people just don't want to listen to the rules.
Alright then, I understand that.
Police state! All right :3 Anyone know who the new members who were starting things were?

It'll probably be wise not to ask that out in public, you know...
I doubt we'll be back to where it used to be. I really do. Not ever since we "advertised" ourselves on Nexon's site.
It's not just the Vindictus section. The Mabinogi section also has a lot of new members, some moving from Nexon forums.
Sad to say, I think it's better off not expecting to go back to where Mabination was before, and instead, just be prepared for now and "worse", as you would put it.
That's not to say the whole matter is a purely negative thing though.

You guys must be doing a good job already or I am not looking around enough for this "drama".
I like Cruril's version better than Intex's version.

Drama comes from SOME people that are quickly and quietly banned.
I'm going to be honest and say that I don't like this, even though I see that's it's necessary. There are some staff members who I feel don't do as they should as a staff member, whether they're being a "good, understanding" staff member or a Hitler staff member. I think that the staff should get together as a whole and decide on how to enforce things commonly, not handle things based on personal feelings, because I know for a fact that different people have handled situations differently, which I think is unfair.
I love you all though, and I know you're doing the best you can.

We don't like it either, but as you said, it's necessary that we must do this. The staff can come to a consensus on how to handle things so that we're all on the same page, but that won't mean much if members will cause problems anyways. I'm just hoping that the shock of now having 12 people that can ban you forces people to go over the rules (http://mabination.com/announcement.php?f=6) again so that they don't get themselves banned. The problem isn't that it's one or two people from the Nexon Forums are coming here and bringing their drama with them, but as I said, the community as a whole seems to have forgotten the rules (http://mabination.com/announcement.php?f=6) here and are posting, probably partially because of a staff that has been lax with their duties lately, but there's also the fact that it seems like people just don't give a **** anymore, and the fact that they haven't been banned just let's them continue.

I'm not sure how this makes much of a difference -- having 12 supermods doesn't mean anyone has a higher chance of getting banned, it just means that if they break a rule there's a higher chance that a supermod will be on and they'll get banned faster.
Not saying more supermods is bad though. However, it can be harder in terms of making sure all of them give out equal punishment for offenses. It's tough to manage unless all of the mods have similar judgement and reasoning.

I really don't think people associate seeing supermods as opposed to mods makes them even remotely more wary, apprehensive or anything. A mod is a mod to most people.

So does that mean more sectional mods....? :D
Or no?
If not, I understand the reasoning.

No more sectional mods for now. This upgrade was to allow more flexibility to our handicapped normal mods who couldn't handle important situations when they were the only ones on.

Well, if they want to stay ignorant, they can be my guest. Perhaps they'll enjoy a tea party with a ban hammer~

I'm just saying, if that was your intended purpose then it's not going to work how you planned.
