Okay, this guide is not all too serious since chefs aren't famously known for their combat abilities, but if your fantasy life involves kneading dough and rolling over monsters, then this is the guide for you!
Introduction
First of all, a battle chef is any person who enjoys cooking and likes to beat down monsters with oversized cooking utensils. The cooking skill is available to all races, but the large utensils, sold by Glewyas, are only available to giants and humans. No elves. :( Ideally, this path would be best with on a giant since (my version of) battle chefs mainly use combat skills, however, only humans and elves can wear chef uniforms. As I mentioned before being a battle chef does not have too many pros and has a long list of cons, but it can be quite enjoyable.
Skills
The following skills are in order of priority.
-Cooking (obviously): r6 (recommended), r8 minimum (r7 and r6 can be annoying to get, especially if you’re saving up for the utensils and enchants!)
One of the greatest things about cooking is the temporary stat gain from eating. A 5 star Vales Fire can give +38 str and +25 luck!
-Windmill: r1 (recommended), r9 (minimum)
-Combat Mastery
-Critical Hit: r1 (for food that really hits the spot)
-Smash
-Lightning Bolt: r5 (minimum)
-Fire Bolt: rF, 9 or 5 (if you need to rely on fire countering)
-Assault Slash
-Charge: (useful for knocking monsters into or out of the cooking pot in cooking dungeons while not dealing a lot of damage and killing the monster)
-Campfire: rF (minimum) (to share food with party members)
-Fishing: rF(minimum) (to catch ingredients for specific dishes)
Other skills can be ranked however you wish.
Equipment
This section is what defines you as a battle chef and not just a guy/girl who knows how to cook!
Headgear
-Apprentice Chef’s Hat
-Advanced Chef’s Hat
-Professional Chef’s Hat
All three hats are exactly the same, 0 defense 0 protection and 20 durability. Wear whichever suits your fancy and you can apply the Boiled prefix and the Spice suffix for a nice 22 dex altogether, to help with your balance and to help prepare better meals. Both enchants available from Glewyas’ shop and is enchanted on a ladle.
Suits
Not too much selection here; Tork’s Chef Uniform (M) and (F), available from the montly cook-off. 1st place wins a white one, 2nd wins black and 3rd gets a beige one. Best not to enchant these as they are unrepairable but have a nice 30 dura.
Weapons
Here’s the fun part about being a battle chef. Giant ladles, giant knives and giant rolling pins. These weapons are pretty nice and can be used as a medium for AWESOME enchants sold by Glewyas. These weapons are also sold by Glewyas but cannot be dual wielded, upgraded, made into spirit weapons or even be used to cook. All enchants sold by Glewyas come already enchanted on an item, so you'll need to find someone to help burn the items or raise the enchant skill yourself (very difficult..). Don't worry about enchanting the items onto your equipment though, all enchants are below rank 9 so you don't need to worry about enchant sequences.
-Delicious (prefix) Vegetable (suffix) Large Cooking Knife [Slow 2-hit]
It doesn't have the highest attack or balance, but it has the most critical and can use a shield for more critical and defense (when shield is enchanted).
Damage: 5~63
Balance: 12%
Critical: 49%
-Delicious Vegetable Large Ladle [Slow 2-hit]
This weapon can also be used with a shield. It has a high balance and has a higher max attack than the cooking knife. It does however, have the lowest critical out of all of them.
Damage: 3~77
Balance: 31%
Critical: 35%
-Bitter (prefix) Vegetable Large Rolling Pin [Very Slow 2-hit]
The most ultimate cooking utensil you will ever see. This weapon has an extremely high min and max and a nice critical. The balance is not the best, but you can easily get dex to help you with that. However, large rolling pins cannot be used with a shield.
Damage: 49~95
Balance: 20%
Critical 59%
Shields
Although cooking pots and cooking tables are considered "ineffective shields" (offer no protection or defense) and are not upgradable, Glewyas sells some nice enchants for these as well.
-Prefix: Honest
+7% Critical
-Suffix: Meat
+10 MP
+5 Defense
These enchants are only available for cooking tables and cooking pots. It's probably better to enchant these on cooking pots since they have 30 durability compared to a cooking table's 10 durability.
Conclusion
Being a battle chef won’t give you end-game damage, but it’s definitely fun and is a nice thing to strive for as a novelty. Be warned, however, getting the equipment and the enchants from Glewyas can be A LOT of hard work, unless you thoroughly enjoy doing kitchen dungeons (you need to get tokens from the kitchen dungeons and use those tokens to buy the equipment and enchants from Glewyas). It’s not the best class, but remember, it’s your fantasy life, have fun with it!
