I usually get my stock of Red Gems from Zombies or Grumbills in Defeat Fomor Commander I - Basic. (From what I observed so far, Grumbills in there drop a ridiculous amount of Red/Silver Gems)

white snakes in redgem also will drop alot of gems. so you dont really have to stock up outside of the place.

I find a lot of gems in Ciar Adv XD (mostly red and silver)
If you really want to stock up, try Fiodh Normal for the snake spawn =>
Ciar Basic also works
I have no idea about Shadow Missions o.o

S> Red gems in Housing for 1k since Ciar adv came out. Look in housing channel. I get about a dozen per run. Keep buying them till my synthesis gets to high, then I will only sell silvers.
