IRL, spartan shields can be a 1 hit kill if blown to the head using the edge of the shield. Also, a shield should have a spike on it so it does extra damage during charge. Also, you can push opponents back.

There probably is since there isn't much a shield user can do besides plain hitting and combo-ing.

Yeah,shield bash is the smex.
There's also counter-attack, that fiona uses. Which is similar to a shield bash, except it can only be used after defending yourself. IT GOES POOM and has good stun power :3.

.. if you wanted to add bash, you need to also add close range kicks and trips for archers. I hate dying when I miss twice in a row.
