I've been thinking about getting a new pet, but I'm a little skeptical on what to get.

The only pets I've ever really thought was money well spent was the Crystal Deer, the Griffin, and the Snake(red one).

But I'm looking for a good combat pet, a friend reccomended a Werewolf, but I thought I'd check here.

Crystal Deer was the most worth it pet since it does just about anything. I would just wait for dragon, if it ever comes. (Or wait another Crystal Deer type pet)

Wait for dragons and the fire horse.

Otherwise, my tigers, griffin and guardian spider have been my best combat pets damage-wise.

Tofu bear. Most hp if purely combat.
If with stunning, dragons, especially thunder isn't that bad.

'Best' combat pet is kind of situational I think. Depends a lot on what you need and what you do.

A wming pet is good if you want to aggro-cancel. (which is very useful when a red ghost spots you\your friend before fake death or Reaper aggros you\your friend when you don't want it to)

If DK you can stay transformed almost permanently by rotating between 3~4 DK cats, I've done a Peaca Basic in eternal DK mode without using pots before with my pets and occasional healing. Trans stats and Trans regeneration each summon is pretty useful for combat where you can't afford to stop and heal them.

A pet like the deer\thunder dragon that stuns enemies when it's summoned opens up a lot of combat options and possible combo attacks as well as increasing player survivability. Having to wait a while if you want a dragon kind of sucks but it's probably the highest damaging pet.

What about the Fire dragon?

Whats the difference between the two?

I honestly think waiting to get a dragon isn't a bad thing, seeing as we all kind of know nexon is going to exploit the price of these things, a lot fo my friends are happy that they will take so long because they can save money to get nx, if you are one of the people who can spare getting extra nx, then you need to figure out what is best about each pet and what would work best for you.

-If you need help with harder monsters like poison, get a snake. (Bosses of lingering darkness or enemy behind)
-Speed mount, get a throughbred
-Able to attack while mounted, get a tiger
-Inventory space, get an owl or labrador
-Decent Damaging Pet, get one of the tofu bears (Red Panda or Polar)
-Don't mind waiting/have limited nx, wait to get a dragon

Paladin Dogs and Dark Cats can be very useful, provided you train them properly and have high ranked transformation skills. Each time they're summoned during your transformation they receive stat boosts equal to 44%, 20% or 15% of your transformation skills. Health, Wounds, Mana, Stamina and Hunger are effectively restored each time. They're most useful to a ranged character, who would greatly benefit from having a pet with reliable bolt magic.

My paladin dog (TTL:215) can land 1k+ critical hits with either smash or fire bolt while tanking hits with 350+ health and 13 defense/2.9% protection.

Otherwise, mounts are the best pets overall with snakes being the second most useful, especially against bulky mobs. Tofu bears take a fair amount of work and have extremely high health, combined with decent offensive stats. The best pet overall is the crystal reindeer.

So Tofu Bear > Mini Bear?

I'm so glad I bought a Tofu Bear.
