What's an ego name that you've seen waaaay too many times?

I think I've seen Shadow on an ego more than anything else.

my ego's name is "Lunaristar" I just thought it was cute at the moment, and I never saw anyone else with it
I guess the best answer I can give is that there are more "Japanese-named" egos than any others.

Another kind of name I see is the kind of name that tries to be "kick ass." "Godsword" is a good example of this. I can't seem to recall any other examples at the moment, heh

The majority of both character and ego names I see are Anime/Manga characters; or some really stupid comment about how supposedly awesome the character/ego is. Even a lot of the stuff that isn't a stolen name, is in Japanese for some reason.

I'm using a flower theme for my egos, finding interesting non-English names for my favorite flowers. So far I have one in Japanese, and one in Hebrew. I haven't decided on my next two (i'm doing one of each ego type, all female); but will most likely have at least one Spanish, and one Eastern European language (probably Ukranian or Polish).

1. Named after a character. (i.e. "Sephiroth", "Amidamaru", ect.)
2. Generic word for either light or darkness. (i.e. "Angel", "Shadow", "light", "Darkness", ect.)
3. Named after a famous weapon type or legendary weapon. (i.e. "Katana", "Muramasa", "Excalibur")
4. Named after spouse.
5. Sexual references.

My next ego will be none of the above, instead with go along side the name of the character I made and be in ancient Hungarian because I'm a nerd. Not sure what yet though. Over used ego names/themes takes from the "epicness" of your ego imo.

Naming your ego weapon "Sephiroth" or "Cloud" or some Japanese word for light or darkness doesn't make you look cool, it makes you look like a run-of-the-mill fanboy with no originality whatsoever. =P If you're gonna show off your fandom, at least be a fan of something that's less mainstream. I mean, name your ego weapon "Protonpack" or something and show some Ghostbusters love. How many people do you see with egos like THAT? It's like wearing red and/or black gear -- sure it's a cool color scheme but EVERYONE uses it and wearing it doesn't make you look like anything special.

At the risk of sounding like I've been honking my own horn -- my ego weapon is named Shininglaser, after the most devastating weapon in MegaMan Trigger's arsenal.

D: But I wear red/black (I mean completely red and black right down to base weapons).
But I do that not to impress but because I can't stick to any other fricken color scheme and i've tried virtually everything DX.


But yea it is wicked common. Games are just another way for people to attempt to be "badass" but never has some little anime character fandom screamed "badass" to me. Using dead or uncommon languages? That's wicked imo. I get all excited whenever I see Hebrew or something somewhere instead of Japanese. Plus if your going to use the light/darkness imagery or anything like that, play it up properly and i will love you. Seriously, i have an alt that i plan to train up later named Angelleon and he's going to have semi-religious imagery all over him. Heck yes.
