Got scolded for something I always do at work

So basically, the rating for customer service for our store is like, pretty low. Like to a point were some people are gonna get laid off if it doesn't improve.

As you all know, I'm a talkative person. And I love conversing with customers. In fact, they've yelled at me for talking TOO much with the customer. Holding up the line, etc. Which was understandable. I also make sure to ask customers if they need help looking for anything, practically every time I see someone.

So now they call me and a co-worker up, and basically tell me to do what I've been doing. Telling me to try and start conversation with the customers, asking to help them find things. Not only does this annoy me, cause they are contradicting what they are saying, but this also shows me that they don't acknowledge what I've been doing in the store.

Don't get me wrong, somethings they said we're right. Like sometimes I start talking to co-workers next to me etc.

It's just annoying y'know?

Managers are idiots who fail to acknowledge my customer services and tell me to do exactly what I've been doing since i've worked there.

Not even manager, it's MANAGERS. Multiple.

But I just realized you can't even blame them, considering one of them just came back(after quitting back in like october) so she doesn't know how I work. And then there's Nory, the new assistant manager. My only question is, if they are new, why would you ask them to yell at us? If some of us do our job correctly.
