Where'd you get your character/pet/ego names?

So! Ever wonder where the hell we get out names? Here's a little thread that tells the story!

Keiko (Human) - Pretty much my internet persona. If you're one of my OLD OLD friends, you would know my former name "MissHannah" was used before Keiko.
Shiryoku (Elf) - Means "Eyesight" but he has everything BUT that! (I swear I am SO UNLUCKY with the bow.)
Tejina (Giant) - A word meaning "Magic" or "sleight of hand" but that's totally contradictory init?
Schezo (Human, but mule) - This guy:http://puyonexus.net/images/wiki/chars/schezo-15th-thumb.png He's my favorite Dark Wizard in the world. If you know me, I'm one Stupid Schezo Fangirl 8D (Too much Puyo Puyo.)
Lagnus (Keiko's Sword Spirit) - Same story where I got Schezo, except it's this guy:http://puyonexus.net/images/wiki/chars/lagnus-yon-thumb.png He's Schezo's elemental opposite, but the poor guy gets thrown around a lot. I decided to give him love by naming him my spirit weapon.
Freiherrin (Shiryoku's Bow Spirit) - Ironically, I Google'd up the name which means "baroness" in German. This isn't the origin, I thought the name was pretty when I was playing FF: Crystal Chronicles.

Missile (Y. Jindo) - If you've played Phoenix Wright you'd know this lil' guy.
Halika (Pally Husky) - Tagalog for "come." Creativity block :P
Bunbunmaru (Crow) - Aya's newspaper :B
Monogatari (Shire) - "Story" in Japanese. When I summon it, it'll be like "Keiko's Story" :P
Ajeno (Bobtail) - Spanish for "foreign."
Yuusen (Mini Bear) - JP for "brave fight."
Shirocobo (White Cotton Ostrich) - Shiro (JP for white) + Chocobo = Shirocobo.
Fumeikaku (Light Russian Blue) - Funny story. I was being an indecisive person (which is REALLY hard to counter D: ) and I can't decide between "Josui" (clean water) or "Schezy" (Schezo's pet name. Don't ask.) for my pet cat. But I ended up naming it "Fumeikaku" which means "indecisive" (Yes, I insulted myself.)
Nishikaze (Eagle) - Japanese for "west wind." I keep associating Eagles with the Wind due to their method of flight.
Myoaino (Persian) - Mixed up two words: "ainoko" meaning hybrid and "myou" meaning life. Supposed to convey "hybrid life" since Persians transform.
OLIOLIOLIO (Red Rock Crab) - CRAB BATTLE!!!
Hatsuyume (Rainbow Sprite) - "First Dream" in Japanese.

Laconicus (main) - according to merriam-webster it's Latin for "Spartan." At the same time it means "one that doesn't talk very much," which is true because I'm introverted. So I thought it was a somewhat appropriate name xD

Yukkuri (white albino snake) - Japanese for "slowly," cuz idk, I thought it sounded cool and it is pretty slow

Horsebob (shire) - Horse + Bob. Didn't even think about Spongebob when making it lol

Chocobueno (black ostrich) - Taken from a t-shirt I've seen lol... this (http://www.jinx.com/men/shirts/video_games/chocobueno.html)

Bokuwahouki (straw broom) - Japanese for "I'm a broom." :D

Seiyumi (female ego bow) - Japanese for "holy bow" (聖弓). And I named it that because my self-given nickname is 聖なる射手 (holy archer).

Pets name's all have an "east" prefix (easthorse, easterncat, eastlizard, eastsprite, eastbroom), except 1 (westhorse). This is because my irl friend has an IGN called easteagle and he sent me 10k NX some time ago.

Arsik (Main Human) - Needed to come up with a name for a character in a video game, and typed in random letters, and came up with Arsik. And I thought it was original until last month when I learned that Arsik is basically grilled tilapia. ._.

Anwa (Marisa Kirisame Cosplayer Alt) - Since Marisa and Kirisame were both taken, I went to a LotR Elven name generator and put in Marisa's name, got a long name starting with 'Anwa', so I shortened that and got Anwa.

Arsixmule (Prof mule) - As the name reads: Arsik's Mule
Not getting an Ego weapon

Cruril (Main Giantess) - Went to the D&D name generator and got the name Cruril for a female Half-Orc (which is as close to a Giant as you can get as a PC in D&D)
Ego Weapon: Zio, the Male Two Handed Sword, after the first antagonist of Phantasy Star IV, since the Male Sword Spirit looks very similar to Zio.

Arsic (Elf Alt) - Fal was going to name her Elf the same as her human with just a slight alteration so people will know that it's her. So I did the same thing with my Elf (Arsik -> Arsic)
Ego weapon: Aleciel, the Female Mace, named after someone important to me

Kawashiro (Nitori Kawashiro Cosplayer Alt) - Figured that I could do a pretty decent Nitori cosplayer, so I tried Nitori, but that was taken. Tried 'Kawashiro' and no one took it, even a year and a half after Mabi came out. Pretty lucky I guess.
Ego weapon: Nitori, the Female Guardian Bow, since I couldn't get Nitori for the character's name, I gave it to her Ego. It was either 'Nitori' or 'Cucumber'.

Banhadlen (Broom) - Welsh for broom...

Lagois (Black Cotton Ostrich) - It's modified from either Raptor or Ostrich in another language, can't seem to remember which one though. Thought it was Latin, but I'm probably wrong.

Veredis (Thoroughbred) - Truth in Latin

Earendur (Shire) - My Elvish last name

Gigno (Beyaya) - Bear in Latin

Militis (Bombay) - Knight in Latin

Rutilus (Red Panda) - Red/Auburn in Latin

Mosh (Mini Skeleton) - Nickname from highschool

Khitty (Light Russian Blue) - My cat's name

Montgomerin (Brown Fox) - Wanted to name it Montgomery, but the name was taken, so I changed the 'y' to a 'i' and added an 'n', so now it makes it seem like it's shorthand for Montgomery-chan.

Corvi (Crow) - Plural of Corvus, which is Latin for Crow

Porqupine (Black Hedgehog) - Porcupine was taken

Porqupaine (White Hedgehog) - A slight twist to Porqupine, little did I know that the Black Hedgehog would have done more "paine" than the White one would

Lovechocobo (White Cotton Ostrich) - A play on words, mixing "Love Bug" and "Chocobo". Was meant to carry me and Fal around, and it looks like a giant White Chocobo.

Pretty boring and unoriginal, but at the same time, very since most of the names aren't of Asian origin. Mostly of Latin and Gaelic roots.

Arus (Human) - Seal Online, but now it seems to have been a poor choice and I often wish I could remake/rename him.
Arendel (Elf) - Random.
Arngeir (Giant Mule) - Random find while searching for Norse names, because giants just shouted "Norse" to me.
Vengrid (Giant) - Random.

Pets
Thundershoes (Shire) - Random and seemed like a horse's name. "Thunder" because horses are fast and "shoes" in reference to its hooves.
Lunarclaws (Black Wolf) - Went along with the naming convention I used for my shire. "Lunar" because he's a wolf and transforms when the moon is out, and "claws" because wolves have claws.
Supermarket (Oak Broom) - Because when I want to use the "sweep!" command, I can shout "Supermarket Sweep!"
Ferdelance (Desert Cobra) - Fer-de-lance is French for spearhead. I found it while searching for snake names and found out that it's actually the name of a different snake species.
Butterbark (Yellow Jindo) - Goes back to the naming convention for my shire and wolf. "Butter" for the golden color of his fur and "bark" because he's a dog.
Chuckloaf (Thoroughbred) - One of many ways you can alter "throwbread," which we commonly used to refer to thoroughbreds in Moonflow.

Egos
Dymlos (Male Sword, pink bastard sword, dead) - One of the Swordians from Tales of Destiny.
Droite (Female Sword, green gladius) - One of the twin sisters in Leviathan's Claw from Tales of Vesperia. The gladius is green like Droite's color scheme (though not the same shade), and "droite" is French for "right-hand side." Her sister is Gauche, whose name means "left" in French and who has a red color scheme. I decided to be clever and have Droite in my right hand while holding a red-bladed sword in my left so they could be Gauche and Droite. It also helps that the female sword's personality somewhat resembles that of the actual Droite.

Kaon.... Well, I was trying to think of names, was going through names of chars I liked, one of which being Himemiya Chikane from Kannazuki no Miko... but Chikane was taken... the author of that series reused the char in another series with a different name, Kaon from Kyoushiro to Towa no Sora... so that's how I got that.

Ego is Murakumo... which is the name of the mech the char is somewhat related to in both series.

As for pets.... most of them are mechs with a heavy preference to gundam(or gundam related things) Dendrobium, Orchis, Gerbera, Whitebase(clover gnu lol o3o)

Kerobeo (Human)- (Kero)- is the name from Card captor Sakura, the little small lion. (beo)- just random cute way to add my name because Kero was taken >>".
Konfuzion (Human) - I use to be a confusing person, that is able to confuse people etc. So I put Konfuzion as a name for it XD from Confusion.
Luminous (Elf)- I have no clue why, I name my elf that. I guess I have nothing to name of since her eyes were golden orange and hair is silver. It makes her seem bright in contrast.

Tiboruto (Black unicorn horse)- a name from my sexy character- Tybalt in Romeo x Juliet >>
Squigglie(Clover Herb pig)- I use to had a pig, and I missed it awfully. My bro bought her as a pet then gave it back to the farm since we moved.
I always messes her around. My sister's dog Maverick, tends to friendly play with the pig. So weird.
Kiiee(Silver fox)- I had no idea of naming it and is like 5-6 years i had this pet. i think..4.. i dunno.
Negatives(Dalmation)- I name him that because is black and white :D
Flocker(White Ostrich)- I name her Flocker because of the movie, Meet the Focker. XD So I put an L in the name of it.
I can't remember my owl's name. LAWL. I played Mabinogi since yesterday and I forget.

Koumori sounds like a nice name, so I used it. Someone told me it means "bat" in japanese as well.

All pets have random chinese/japanese names.

I have no other human/elf/giant characters that I actually use. And the giant and elf that came from the assistant cards don't count since I haven't been on them in like, forever.

Spirit wand is named Ciel. Ciel means sky in French, at least, that's what my teacher told me, and it's a lightning wand.

The first random as eff japanese chick name I could think of since a friend of mine wanted me to play a girl. Went well for almost a year until I got sick of pretending to be a chick for cheap lulz XDD.
Ego's name was Amidamaru because again i didn't care and ego weapons just screamed Shaman King.

Named from the Malazan Book of the Fallen series. Was intended to be an alt and that's primarily why i left him. I'm picky with my mains if they haven't done all the generations they get shunned. I didn't stay with him long, a couple months.
Ego's name is Cotillion which is once again reference to TMBOTF.


Which brings me to my third main but technically first made character.
Hatecraze
A username I came up with when i was pissed off and wanted to get back into gaming. Was just my X-Box live at the time and when i first played Mabi i had 0 intention in staying with it so I just used my gamertag. Hate was a guy and a friend of mine wanted me to play as a girl like mentioned so I made kaiyako since at the time we had no NX in town and Hate wasn't far along. This is also how I have 2 primary Mabinogi Nexon accounts.
Ego name is currently Crimsonedge because it's a red dragon blade. Seriously by the time i got him this ego i was already sick of seeing "hatecraze" so i didn't care about ego either, thus craptacular name.
*If at any time name change cards ever come out he will be reinstated as a secondary main and be named to "Helvectius", it's the name of a mule on another account, and also the name of a G12 NPC. Hahaha. (I`m assuming the name holds further meaning but I`m lazy).

I wanted a name with "Kai" somewhere since that's what i'm primarily known as on mabi (well aside from my middle name). So I raddled off a few ideas and found this, turns out it's also an ancient Hungarian word. What the meaning is I'd love to tell you if you know I understood ancient Hungarian. So i decided his ego will also be an ancient Hungarian word but one that i know the meaning of, not certain what it will be yet.


Seriously... I should move server or region for a real clean slate but if i change server i`d miss my unicorn and if I move location i`d have to play with stupid proxies.

I love one piece. My first ego weapon was a one Handed japanese sword I gached when iria was released. it had a white cover and reminded me of zoro's sword. so I named it Ichimonji after zoro's first sword, Waldo Ichimonji

I also bought a polar bear and was planning to feed it tofu. I got the bear when One Piece story line had the whole pacifist robot army showing up at the marine headquarters. I named my bear after Kuma's code name PXZero

Yeah, threads like these get repeated all the time because nobody ever reads everyone else's responses anyway. =P

My name Trigger is from MegaMan Legends; it's the real name of the amnesiac protagonist MegaMan Volnutt. Virtually all of my same-account alts have Legends names as well, such as Rollcaskett and Tronbonne. My off-account alts have various series-related names like Bluebomber, Megabuster, Rockbuster, and Volnutt.

Not going to re-list all my pets' names and meanings; I did that before.
