Question about Clannad: After Story.

So I'm almost done watching Clannad.
When I watch season 2, should I see the OVA's first? Or the anime? Because I hate it whenever I watch the OVA, the events happens before the ending of the anime.

There are no OVA's, there are 2 side specials though. They're basically short episodes on what would have happened if Okazaki chose Kyou and the other one is if Okazaki chose Tomoyo. I've only seen the Tomoyo one but they're not required to be watch after the series. They hold no relation towards the main story line of Okazai and Nagisa.

@Chock Just go and watch After Story right after the original because it picks up where it left off.

Nope, Clannad isn't an eroge. Kanon and Air were, but Clannad was just a romantic visual novel of the school-life genre.

Yar, the OVA's are essentially alternate reality "what if"s and are not situated anywhere chronologically in the main plotline. Just start watching After Story after you finish the first season.

However...

Just so you know... don't cry if you spend more than 3 hours trying to get her path and not get it o.e;; I spent 4 hours trying to get Kyou's path and ended up google-ing a walkthrough. Even with the walkthrough, I actually failed on getting Kotomi's (the genius girl) path for the first time, since my translator failed me (yep, Atlas... and yes... the walkthrough was in Japanese)
So you might wanna use a walkthrough there; lemme know if you need help.

Also, I agree that you should watch the OVA AFTER you finish After Story--
Although you probably watched the Tomoyo-path, right? It's part of the first season anyways

To be perfectly honest, I like the game better for its plot, but I like the anime better for its artwork and character design.

Also Pika didn't cry after watching Clannad After Story :( Woulda been more sad if...his daughter actually did die and if in the other world, his daughter ended up disappearing and the guy did something super dramatic in response.)

I got my DL link from Hongfire. For the voice patch, I actually had a friend give it to me. If you'd like, i'll upload it onto a filehosting site

In the game itself, watch as you "get good endings and ball of light", the balls of light appear in the main screen, on the grass; bottom left of your screen. Note that you'll need 8 balls of light to unlock After Story. The balls of light is very small and hard to spot; it is represented by white dots bigger than the 'sparkles'.

Well ain't that bad to me, but anime is still better, imo.
