View Full Version : Room A?...or Room B?
Lets pretend that one day, you wake up to find your self in a room. To your right and to your left are locked doors. You see a note on the desk in your little room. The note says that you have been chosen for a psychological experiment. You MUST remain in the building for 20 years ( just pretend the walls are made of steel and there are no windows and you are not superman o-o ). There are 2 buttons on the desk. Button A opens the Room to your left while Button B opens the door to your left. If you click one, the other door will remain locked forever. Now for more details on the rooms...
Room A is a small room about the radius of your waist all around you. Once you enter, you may not leave and you are to remain in this room for 20 years. However, in this room, you may just yell out anything you want. For example, you are hungry, so you yell you want steak. A steak will somehow be given to you. You are also unable to ask for anything electronical. You will not have ANY contact with the outside world. Also, you may ask for human beings. However, the person you ask for will first be cloned and you will only receive their clone. The clone will not converse and will submit to your every will. The clone however, will not order any commands to harm you in anyway. Also, if you are to order any dangerous weapons and attempt to suicide, the item will be confiscated and you will be knocked out instantly.
Room B contains a gun and a bullet.
Which room will you decide?
Room A, cause even if you want to resort to killing yourself, you could theoretically just not eat and die....

Damn, I realized Ricochet's post. Yeah, then wish that you were a deity. Then you can't interact with walls, or other stuff, so you can escape.

Room A...
It's a perfect opportunity D:
Make yourself all kinda of books and stuff to learn all there is to learn. When it's almost time to get out, create tons of moniez.
Invent stuff using knowledge + money, become very rich and powerful, track down the people who put you there and kill their families before their eyes while recording it then stick them in a room where they're kept alive for 20 years forced to rewatch that scene 24/7.

You guys all seem to forget Room A is an incredibly small room, so unless you're not claustrophobic I would just go with gun and bullet.

Ask for more space.
In all seriousness, I would choose room A. It's only 20 years. If I were in the situation right now, I'd be able to get out at 37. That's not bad, and as Osayidan stated you could do a lot in the meantime.
How ronery you are depends on how good those clones are.

Heh. Room A for sure.
Room A.
Ask for blueprints required to make a laptop, an electric generator, network adapter.
Ask for raw materials.
Spend 20 years in comfort.

Room A.
I want: internet, a gaming pc, my family and occasional gf visit... now... how is it different from my regular life again?

Because your only get clones, and you can't ask for electronic devices.

Ok. New plan:
I choose room A, then ask for a bigger room.

PS: If I can't ask for electronic that means the room is lit by fire or oil lamps. Which means I can use it to scorch the wall and eventually weaken the building's structural integerity. And since I can ask for anything I want that's not electronic it's perfectly fine they should give it to me.

room B of course. I know suicide is bad, but it's better than getting whatever you want and being in tight spaces...

Oh, I didn't think about busting out. That's a good idea. Though, if they have the ability to knock you out for trying to suicide if you choose room A, then why can't they knock you out for trying to bustaway out?

because A: they didn't say I can't attempt to escape. B: I have potential to harm them and it's not 100% I can't burn them before they knock me out. And if they try to gas me unconcious there is the potential that when i lose conciousness I might accidentally light myself on fire and kill myself which means they have to be present to supervise to ensure that doesn't happen, which means there is a chance I'd light them on fire anyway.
