View Full Version : Scammers...
One of my guild mates posted on our site the following, so be aware of it.
For those that dont know
Recently people have been found impersonating GM's and asking for personal account information
to 'check for gold buyers and modders'
Do NOT answer them, simply block them/blacklist them
Real GM's do not need to go directly into your accounts since mods are based on your Comp and Nexon staff can just check transaction databases if your buying gold

Scammers are worse lately :S I often get those ".tk" links that look like the nexon website and you can type your username/pw in them :S I never go to websites with ".tk" at the end and I honestly never was stupid enough to type in my Username/PW but yea I even got them from ppl I know for a long time like 3-6months+ :S Scammers fail
Yea. Honestly, if we kill everyone who gets scammed, we'll get rid of all the scammers in the process :D

Scammers are getting more clever by the minute. (even though they screwed up on some grammar)
How amusing.
Btw that picture shows two scammers.

haha i would just curse them out for being an idiot. they usually don't reply if u raeg at them

It's hard to believe anyone would really believe it. But even smart people could fall to it, they are just "new to the internet". I introduced MMORPGs to a few IRL friends, and they got scammed one time for something silly like this, they are not stupid, they were just too innocent, having no idea what evil lurks on the internet.

I like how every word ending with an S had an apostrophe.

Tbh, those .tk links aren't invincible. On firefox/chrome, just open the page and click view tab.

But that kind of thing wouldn't come as a surprise from Nexon 8D

How cute, someone pretending to be a GM.

If it's from nexon and didn't have typos I would find it suspicious.

Never said so :o Its just that thats the most common way scammers tried to scam me :S Its stupid 'cause I know its not the nexon website... not even worth it going on these

This.
Half of what Nexon posts is either copy/paste from earlier or they just half-assed it.
Or, in some cases, they use google translator.

Or, in some cases, they use google translator.
So that's why nothing ingame ever gets properly translated. :(

You have to be stupid to do this, there is that annoying lil message that pops up every so often warning you not to ever give out your info. So :x why would Nexon go and be a hypocrite like dat? Srs people lets start thinking :L

If anyone over the age of 10-12 falls for this, they should be shot in the face.

I was going to say that XD even though Nexon frequently has notices in game saying "don't give out your account information," people still fall victim to this? '-' I wouldn't be fooled like that in game if I received one of those messages, which I haven't <:I

The lamest scam someone tried on me was sending me to the nexon website, which was actually a link to his own site. I got the whois info for the domain and replied with his name and address and his response was profanities too horrible for this forum.

That's why i'm lucky. Try Whoising my website, you won't be getting my info (A friend bought the domain).

The ending part to the note they sent made it seem unrealistic and a sad way to try sounding professional in getting account info.
