I'm having trouble with some CSS positioning, and making them look alike in different browsers :T_T:
Not to mention IE is a big fat ***** .
P.S: Text in the site is just random gibberish used to test.

Where be Osay :O
I like the design :D the layout is cool but I think the sides could be more filled. Just my 2 cents :/ I'm not good with sites

Yes, I'm actually thinking what to do about the sides, since they are a bit empty.
Or I could just fill them with ads
Maybe a new background? That ones a bit plain.

OMG THIS.
I spent literally hours before finally giving up. Browser compatibility is a *****.

Dreamweaver ftw when it comes to compatibility.
The layout looks good, but the red is INSANELY bright and could use some toning down. Also, you're running a monochromatic color scheme -- if you're going to do that you'll need some dark shades like gray and black thrown in to offset the bright whites and reds. Background, background, background.

I took a milky-gold color and a dark scarlet red for my site design.
Felt very nice. For some reason the site is completely gone and dead. And I never bothered taking a picture.
But it was a good layout.
Bound by the theme set by Mabinogi World I also tried to make a red theme for the Touhou board.
http://mabinogiworld.com/forums/index.php?board=64.0
Its not as good as the one I made on my own site but using some silver really helps when working with red.

The layout is ok I guess, a bit too simple IMO. And that shade of red is killing my eyes. Try throwing in some other colors and/or add a background image.
What kind of CSS problems are you having right now? In terms of positioning, it is usually best to avoid using code like position: relative/absolute cuz that can screw up your alignment and just overall looks messy. Using a table layout with some CSS padding/cell-spacing will ultimately be your best friend.
[Edit] BTW, what is the name of your forum? I can't tell if it's suppose to be Red Forums or Reo Forums. You may want to change the font for header image.

Other than the background lacking I think the colors are done well. There's only some major issues with the placement of things.
Here's some general notes on it... if you can read my horrible tablet writing (normal writing is not much better >_>)

And here's how I would do it, it would still need a better background though.

And a link to a PSD if you want to play around with moving elements on the page

<3 thanks all.
Specially Os, that's some great stuff there, and very detailed :3 I like what you did to the header, will try.
I'm trying different BGs atm D:

I'm probably reading the diagram wrong, but wouldn't it make more sense to center all the content under the second red menu rather than centering only the right menu?
And since I've had another look at the image, I noticed that there's a lot of wasted space between the first and second red menu at the top of the page. Try pushing them closer together or maybe switch their positions and fuse them together.
Alrighty, update. Fixed positions to match better with the rest of the elements.
Also managed to make it look as it should on FF, Opera and Chrome. Some problems on IE still ._.

Now to work on a BG D:
Oh, and
BTW, what is the name of your forum? I can't tell if it's suppose to be Red Forums or Reo Forums. You may want to change the font for header image. It's "Red", means Network|Web|Lan in spanish. And yeah, I liked the font, but I didn't like the "d" much; Will have to hunt for something better.

P.S: Bottom elements ("Ultimos Reviews/Articulos") are not finished yet. dunno if I'll use dotted lines like on the other menus or something else.
And will add a footer later.
edit: just noticed there's some barely visible white text below the big image. Just something I forgot to move. -3-

If you're still looking for fonts, 1001 Free Fonts (http://www.1001freefonts.com/) is a pretty good place to get nice looking fonts. The great thing about this site is that all the fonts are free, are available in different styles and can be sampled ahead of time. I use this site a lot when I'm looking for a special font for some "thing" and it's a good place to start. In fact, the font used for the pk in my signature was a font I found on that site.
Just came back from school, will start looking for fonts later; I usually use dafont.com . That site seems good too though, will search in both
Will work on BG first; I have no idea what to make though .3. Trying a few things xD

I was going to write something long and boring and constructive about the site as it was on the first post, but luckily I read through the entire topic and decided to just say that it's awesome, but a red that bright is a bit much for a website. Fine color for other things, but real bright colors should generally be avoided when designing a website.
And I think it would be better if both sidebars were more consistent. You have a tab thing sticking out of your left sidebar and the right sidebar headings are just bars above the sections. And I also think it would be better if the right sidebar was the same width as the left one.

Hmm, yeah; I think you are right. Will try changing that. Thanks for the input.

Also, what do you guys think about this blue bg? | Also added a gradient bg to the text boxes & a footer.

I'm trying to do some javascripting for the big images; so they switch automatically when there's no activity.
I never touched JS before -w- So I'm failing hard; but W3 schools and my brother are helpful 8D
edit: oh , and about the bright red, most people seem to be telling me the same X_X. I don't know, I don't see it as bright D: maybe I just have better tolerance to brighter colors o3o (or my monitor is failing me) . But still, will try toning it down.
edit2: fail; so used to typing in English lately I didn't write the footer in Spanish -w-;; /fixed

I can't really put my finger on it, but the color scheme seems a bit... off for some reason. Try changing the background color to something else like a dark grey or dark red (since that seems to be the overall theme of the webpage). You could also try playing around with images if your feeling a bit daring. Overall, it's starting to look better. You just need to keep tweaking it until you find something which is satisfying.
Yuh <3 I was trying other BG colors. I'm liking this dark gray + pattern I'm using now, also toned down the red, to something a bit darker and changed the big images layout . Oh and made the heading of "Ranking" fit the whole width instead of a tab sticking out.
http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a178/letixferrance/preview-5.png
Will increase ranking height a bit to match images I think. And add a sub-navigation menu down there.

Its almost perfect.
The red bar at the bottom is unnecessary and looks pretty bad. White font on black background will suffice.
I would advice against centering the entire page like it shows. It looks to me like the site has a fixed width, which is okay for the two sidebars on the left and right, but would look worse and worse the larger the screen resolution is for the body at the center.
If the left sidebar is aligned to the left, and the center body's size is adjusted to the browser window, it would probably look a lot better. But then you'd also have to make some visual adjustments to the top links to match this new look...
Am I asking for too much?

I actually don't agree with you. The problem with letting your central content stretch with the browser is that it creates a lot of empty space which makes it harder to focus on the important content when stretched far enough. You should keep your page at a fixed width, around 900-1000px should be fine. That way, your web page is wide enough so that you can put whatever content you need to fill in the space, yet small enough so that can see everything on a standard monitor.
Another thing you'll want to keep in mind is that all your important information must appear above the fold (or the bottom part of the browser) when the user first enters the site. That way all (or most) of the important content is seen by the user and captures their focus. From the screenshots you've posted, it seems your already doing that, so you should just keep doing the same thing for any other page your using.

One of the reasons why I suggested that the body stretches is because the header does.
If the header was fixed too, maybe it'd look better?
The site looks okay on my 19 inch, but on my 22 inch widescreen its just horrendous amounts of blank space, and its mostly caused by the Search bar on the top right.

Hmm, I guess that would make sense. I'd favor making the whole page (including the header) a fixed width rather than having it adjust based on the window size.
