I'm a pretty creative fellow, you know? I like to make fun and interesting things, so after researching some rat stuff (food/bedding brands) for my Mom so we can save a little more money for our rent I came across all these epic ideas (http://www.dapper.com.au/toys.htm#pinata)for rat stuff to keep them entertained.
Sadly we either can't afford most of the stuff and/or our cage set up makes it impossible. (it's an aquarium)
I frickin' love spoiling my animals and getting more involved, so it's like asodjapodjpsajdoasijdoijrageomgwhyisopoor. I'm well aware that things aren't going to suck ass forever, but bah. Makes me feel like a sh*tty owner not being able to do stuff like this for them right now.
bbies daddy sorry he can't spoil you :cry: :fail3: :fail:

I (kinda) know how you feel :c I actually had to give up my puppy because I moved to an apartment and couldn't afford a house at the time. I mean, the apartment allowed dogs like him, but I just thought it'd be better if he had a place where he could run around more. Back at the house, we had a nice fenced-in backyard where we could play fetch and a little pool he could swim in D: Well...more like he just jumped in, jumped out, and jumped in again xD but still.
I miss my puppy ;o;

I can still play with them and stuff, but I've been hoping to make them little forts and such for them to play in. I did it before with 1 cardboard box and they lovvveeeddd it, but you need to replace it often since they (or mine at-least) love peeing on it. :/
We also can't add a hammock and hang toys up, so.. Orz
I feel like I let them down, man.
Feels bad.
@ Shizzy; we had the same issue with our puppy awhile back. :I Both my Mom and I walked him regularly and stuff, but.. we lived on the 2nd floor of the apt and he loved to run and chew on things (mostly plants, which sadly we had a lot of inside), so it was pretty impossible for us to keep him constantly happy while also keeping the house clean.

awww :c It's always sad when you have to give a pet up. I can't stand it orz; My puppy was a lab (and, apparently, one of the things they're known for is their love for chewing things), so we had to teach him when we first got him what to chew on and what not to chew on. The only problem I had with the apartment was the lack of space. He was about a year old when I had to move and by that time, he was a big dog and still very energetic. I'd take him on walks, but it just wasn't enough for him :c he wanted to just RUN, but there weren't very many places where he could do that. I just hope that he's happy with the family he's with now ;o;

I sew my own dog toys or snag them out of the claw machine..
I'll be in walmart or something and be like
"MAGGIE WOULD LOVE THIS!"

That kind of thing happened to me too with Charlie (the dog), except I'd look for stuff at Petsmart. Frisbees for $10 orz...
I didn't know they sold pet toys at Walmart o: the only pet-related things I can find is pet food.

It's depressing :I
I mean, okay, I'll admit.. my animals are spoiled in terms of lovings, but I never feel like it's enough. They're m'family, ya' know? It's like never being able to get your kid a toy, even if they say "nono, I'm happy as is ^^;".

My pets are like children, even my snakes.
I have
3 cats
2 dogs
3 mice
2 snakes
-1 Bob the bearded dragon ):
It seems like a lot but our house is largish so it's not like we're tripping over our animals
like I have my 2 snakes (in two different tanks) and 3 mice (in one cage) in my room
but I want to get my snakes bigger tanks which will cost me anywhere from $50-$80 each
the same with my mice which their current cage cost me like $40
I always want to buy my mice those add-on things to their cage ;-;
as for my dogs I always want them to have a large amount of toys and treats, the same goes for my cats
and with bob I was in the process of making his cage look awesome with decor ):

You sound like me :D; only I haven't been able to afford to get new pets even if I wanted to. We had to give my water dragon away due to not being able to care for him anymore, too.. the money just got too tight. We can barely support out current animals, let alone ourselves Orz
Have you tried looking for a long tank? If you buy them from a store they get kind of pricey, but some fish stores/garage sales have them for pretty cheap. It allows the snake to grow more without having to spend money on wide x long tanks. It's alright for most reptiles since they don't run around as much as rodents.
What happened to Bob? D;

Yeah we got him a 40gallon tank when we was itty bitty but now he's 4.5feet long so he needs something bigger
and this is what happened to bob (http://mabination.com/threads/32297-...my-uncle-killed-Bob-Fred-Frank-Blarg?highlight=uncle+killed)

That's about the same size that mine was, if I recall. We got one of the longer ones, but it still wasn't too good. What kind of snake is he-- ball python if I recall? (ignore my stupid arse if I'm wrong)
The nice thing about smaller snakes is that they can make due with only growing half their natural size for awhile. As long as they're healthy and happy they tend to be fine, too. At-least from what I know.
A pity that 50-60 gallon tanks tend to be $100~150. We got lucky when we bought our big aquariam for the rats (40gal? wide) and it was only like, $50.
