[WIP] Mabination Amazing Race

So, I am a large fan of the television game show "The Amazing Race." If you don't know what it is, go and search it on google or youtube so you have some background info on the show.

Because in this forum's description it said to set up ideas here, I'm making this thread to see if anybody is interested in participating/helping with it.

Usually each year I do a large-scale event for a gaming community that I participate in. These past two years it has been for a different game, but I recently quit that game (due to drama...) and moved over to Mabinogi. This year, I am debating between a few different options. One of my ideas was to recreate "The Amazing Race" into a smaller, Mabinogi-fied version.

I want to put up 40,000 NX myself (20k NX per user) as the prize, but because my parents monitor my spending so closely, this might not be realistic. (In which case, I would buy 20,000 NX.) I would need a few other people to help run this event, and if others want to help with the prize pot by donating NX, that would help as well.

The game will be held on Mari server, but all users are allowed to compete so long as they make a side-account to use in the game on Mari server. (This is why mountable pets are not allowed.)

Sounds awesome, but i probably wont be able to keep going for later rounds tht will include Tara or Tali etc. but this sounds awesome, and i 1st watch amazing race at school for reasons i forgot but I was really getting into it & i hope this event goes well ^^

I'll be glad to help, just lemme know when/what you need help with. Just make sure that lag plays a factor in the event, as well as skill levels and all. Since not everyone is on Mari and they will have to make a new account.

If I do this event, I'd give a month's notice. Most of the skill requirements will be rNovice or rF-rD. It is best for strategy's sake to have a team where one user ranks certain skills, and another does other skills. (IE One Melee, One Life; One Mage, One Arch; etc.)

Also, I'd rather not make a character and bother doing all the stuff to get skills especially if I don't have any mounts to get there for and stuff just for this. It would take away some of the fun, having to work so much just to even PLAY. If it didn't require skills, and if you didn't have to go to laggy places like Tail or Tara I'd be okay with this.

I probably won't participate but I can be there and help assist for the event. It just seems like a bit too much work for me, lol. Especially since I'll probably never use the character ever again.

Rules are flexable. I might allow mounted pets.. I posted this for feedback. We're looking at this taking place 2-4 months from now. Also, most things wouldn't require skills above Novice or rF.

That sounds so fun to do....I like the Nx rewards for events. :x

Doesn't seem to be too complicated, as long as you get it well-monitored and all, if there's not much trust. Hopefully there's trust and no one needs to have someone watching over behind them.

You also may want to check everyone's skills over, since some people may not have Novice at all, and then just not be able to do something, and that would be an ouch for them.

It's refreshing to see people host more community events as time goes on. x]

reminds me of the amazing race event they had when it came out....if you could find one of the hats for sale it would make a cool prize.
