Which graduation present should I choose?

I either get a laptop of any varying brand that's cheap ~$300
A desktop which would be cheap ~$???
Or I was thinking of getting a drawing tablet with touch screen so I don't have to look at computer screen. Wacom Technology - Cintiq 12WX (http://www.wacom.com/cintiq/cintiq-12wx.php) Like that but probably something cheaper XD;;
