Title. I just want to reach the top as fast as I can without having funding and without spending money on NX.

At first, it's really slow but for me Cleric was super fast. After I got Priest+Holy Symbol, I never had to fight for any maps.

As for power, Mechanic is also another way to go. But I played when they were first launched and OP. They get good AoE attacks early on, so yeahhh.

Demon Slayers, when they come out.

Wind archer.. they don't have many AoE attacks to begin with but they become super OP after level 70 (which doesn't actually take long to get to because they're strong anyway).. they don't need funding (I started that one with no money whatsoever), and they get trans/mounts early. They're really mobile too, considering their regular speed (with thrust maxed) is the same as one of a thief with haste.

Another one is wild hunter.. although you'll have problems going back to any other character after you're used to the jaguar. They're very strong early on, but get outdamaged by properly-played cygnuses later on.

Tbh, not many characters actually need funding anymore since the game has been made so easymode.

I agree
Jobs I would avoid are

Gunslingers
Arans
Explorer Warriors
Any Thief including DBs
Blaze Wizards a
And Evans

I mean DBs are super easy to level, I got mine to 120 in like 3 days
but they're hella expensive (expect to pay 500+mil on them) and if you want any good skills you have to pay NX
the same goes for Evans

...I remember the good old days when it took 3 months to get to lvl 50... When Ludi pq was the best way to level.

Haven't gotten on for a while so this is from experience and memory. Ignoring Cygnus Knights

Unfunded, from 1st job to 3rd job (1 to 70) would probably be a Sin. Your probably thinking "What? No AoE and no funds? No way." Sins definitely have no AoE and damage may not seem all to amazing with no funding but in the beginning, incredibly high damage is not the matter, mobility is. (Though damage for Sins is incredibly easy to boost at low levels). Sins not only get Haste, they have a fast/far ranged attack and the fact that they can jump and attack helps greatly which just about no other range class can do. (Unless Archers [1st and 2nd job] can jump then shoot now after Jump Patch, not sure since I haven't gotten on.) If your thinking, "What about Wild Hunters?" Lol... no.

If you don't want a Sin, then just about any magician class other than a Cleric, they're slow and weak. Holy Symbol does not help 3rd job because from my experience, most just afk and leech, meaning they're leveling slower than they would be if they trained solo. Having a Priest in the party helps the party more than it helps the Priest, but they're so weak they'll level so slow regardless of party or solo. Heal does horrible damage on undead.

Though if you can manage the moblity issue with speed/jump gear, any class isn't a problem 1st->3rd job.

Level 70 to 120 will vary a bit more but AoE is definitely a must now. Sins/Hermits literally drop to the bottom of the list. I don't have much experience on characters after 3rd job since I don't play multiple classes after hitting 3rd job, usually mules. As long as you can mob a huge amount at Jesters and MP3 (like a I/L mage, DK, etc), any class is fast. If your stuck with single attacks (Sader, WK, Hermit, etc), you'll be leveling a lot slower.

120+ is all about funding. More funds = better gear = higher damage = faster killing = more exp/time ratio.

If your funded from start, any class will level fast.
