Hate running into bandits? Can't figure their movements out? NO PROBLEM
This is a simple guide to handle any bandit situation.
Commerce bandits, which are mobs that randomly appear on the roads you take to each destination, their strength levels depend on the number of ducats you spend from your original camp. So if you spend 100 ducats, you'll only see newbie imps, if you spend 300k ducats, the first mobs you'll see are going to be Hardened bandits in the first map or two.
Let's talk about how each bandit acts when they're in a group.
Bandits come in:
Bandit imps
Bandit humans
Bandit Goblins
Bandit giants
Bandit boss ogres
Bandit boss humans.
Bandit imps: Imps have a very similar AI to gremlins or grumbils in shadow missions, they will continue to circle you and either attack or cast magic (mostly magic). They act like the support unit in the bandit spawns to stun you while other bandits loot your stuff.
Bandit humans: Bandit humans are the berserkers of the bandit spawns, they'll almost always smash spam you to push you away from your cart or transport to give other bandits time to loot your goods. You can attack them easily, but windmill does the trick if you're being overwhelmed by smash spam.
Bandit Giants: Bandit giants do not have very smart AI's but if you get too close to them or agro them, they may proceed to stomp spam you to continue to stun you while other bandits loot your stuff. If you are knocked back/down by another bandit, they will load smash and attack you then proceed to knuckle-spam or more stomp spam. They're rather slow, so if you attack first or keep a reasonable distance, you're good to go.
Bandit Goblins: Bandit goblins are the hybrid of the spawns, they can spawn as rangers or meleers, they possess a high ranked ranged attack and can spam easily, they also use high crit axes to deal lots of damage to you if agro'd. Their AI isnt that much different from normal goblins, but they perform better with better crit and higher range speedaiming. Goblin rangers seem to have very low ranking magnum shot however.
Bandit Ogre boss: Their Ai is really dumb to be honest, they hit alot but they only hit twice dealing moderatly survivable damage despite their counterparts being able to 1hit-ko most of the time. After they perform their 2-hit combo, they stay still for about 5 seconds allowing you to freely smash them which is kinda cool. They have lots of hp, but it's best to do smash ->assault -> defence since they don't bother to attack again for a little while afterwards. They occasionaly load defence and walk around in random directions and load smash as well.
Bandit human bosses: They're not much different from bandit humans, except the increased hp and damage.
Please note: This is my observation only from running into lots and lots of bandits for no reason, so please try not to shoot me down for this.
As a side note: Bandit AI's can't run after your supplies if you hide it behind an object such as a fence or a sign post or the side of a mountain as their AI's don't allow them to run around objects.
If you're not around any objects or landscape areas that block your cargo, it's advised to load windmill and spam while you're standing near your supplies to prevent multiple bandits from getting near it.
Only 3 bandits may loot/agro at once including the boss of the group which would count as a 4th, so pick which ones you want to kill while the other bandits walk around in random directions.
