The mod i'm planning will add a Decomposation table that will decompose any item you place into it.
Basically, Lets say you place a Golden pick axe into the Input of the decomposation table then 3 gold ingots and two sticks will be in the outout.
(Weapons or tools that have any dura lose wont be decompsible)
The crafting of a Decomposation table would be:
W D W
D S D
W D W
W = wooden plank
D = diamond
S = shears
So? what do you guys think?

Maybe make it so that items that have been used a bit give less of the item?
Let's say your golden pickaxe has 1/3 dura left, then you get 1 bar instead of 3!

I like this idea!
But, like Akemii said, I think it should give a proportional output. Ie: it has 4/5ths of the dura left, it would round down to 2/3 and give you 2 of the bars.
I think that's too much diamond to make the table, especially since you can combine two items to make a higher dura one.

This would be awesome if you could find tools in pre-generated chests.

Well the Decomposer table Is a little OP'd don't you think? and It gives you more of a reason to go diamond hunting!

Yeah I know :/

Awesome idea! And I agree with Akemii, and if that was so, I would turn my Diamond Pickaxe into a 2 Shovels when it loses enough Durability.

How about adding in a repair table that could fix the items you have for a cost? (put in 1 diamond to fix something perfectly), this would make the pickaxe you love alot more usable because instead of making two, you have the equivilant of four

Also, I wanna add a Leather storage Bag.
Right click it to open it and a small inv will pop up to store your items.
LSL
LXL
LLL
L = Leather
S = String
X = Nothing
Anyone?

Install equivalent exchange and call it a day? xP
Leather Storage Bag=Alchemic Bag (in various colors, which mean more inv space)
Decomposation table=Transmutation Table

You could mod the item generation in pre-generated chests to spawn tools.

Love that mod, too bad its not for 1.0.0 yet.

Now a Storage Bag mod is something I would use! I am always running out of inventory space, quite irritating if I find something special.
