Your forgetting that as far as you know (Deer are stupid right?), its the same thing as the cat, which is already right up and close, so if a bigger one is coming you dont want to get surrounded do you? I mean, thats nature....

I didn't see it collapse. :T If anything, Mama Deer prolly told Baby Deer to hide, so Baby Deer listened to Mama Deer and tried to blend in.

It could have collapsed, but I don't see anything wrong with a fawn that still has it's spots falling down. It's still a baby, so walking is still fairly new to it, especially transitioning from grass to pavement.

But you could stop the situation without it getting to that extreme, the fact is that whole thing could have been avoided if the people were not so dumb and recording instead of trying to get the cat away from the baby deer.

No, a large dog 10-20 feet away is a potential threat to its baby, protecting its baby does not equal going on a rampage.

Deer always leave their babies alone. It's necessary to go get food. In fact, many animals do that. That's the point of baby camouflage (in this case, the baby deer's spots...though totally useless on a road :P)

Why shouldnt the deer be there again? Where I am deer are everywhere, in peoples yards, once on my porch....And im not saying the pets cant be there, Im saying that the people should have stopped them In this instance from going to the baby deer, cause the mom is gonna protect it...

The cat is small, the dog is big and looks like a wolf/other predator doggy thing that eat deer, so its better to get the jump on it before you become dinner.

I don't know how common they are, but I know there are leash laws in some places. Which means pets should be in their own yards, and if they aren't, they need to be on a leash. Granted, the deer probably shouldn't be in a residential area, but for a lot of places, that's pretty rare.

Deer is protecting its young, definitely. It's doing right.

But I can't just let it curbstomp my dog in the corner. If it I let it, I would be doing wrong. Therefore, I would have to intervene in such a situation, whether it's the deer's life versus my own life.
