Not quite sure how a microwave works but I postulate that the microwaves excite the water molecules within the substance being warmed, in turn this increase the kinetic energy which will increase the temperature thus warming the good. Imagine that.

And before anyone accuses me of supporting abuse, I don't. I just wouldn't risk my own life to protect an animal. Or even another human. That's what the police are for. It's not self defense unless you are defending yourself, defending another person doesn't count. And going after a person AFTER it's happened definitely is for the police, seeing as it's not any kind of defense.

Is this recent? I've heard of several of these cases involving both cats and dogs in the past.
