“Mika! Miiiiiiika!” a young lass named Trista called out for her pet, a clockwork ferret who had the amazing propensity for getting himself (and usually Trista as well) into heaps of trouble. Even though it usually turned out to also be heaps of fun, sometimes chasing down that glorified rat could be a lot of trouble!

“Oh Mika, where did you run off to this time?” she wondered in a soft, youthful voice.

She skipped down the stairs, ready to rush out into the streets to find her faithful, if mischievous companion, only to be stopped by her mother.

“And where do you think you’re going, young lady?”

“Mom, I have to go look for Mika. Besides, there’s no school today,” she whined.

“Not like that you aren’t, your brothers are going out today too, and I want you all to match.”

Help Trista and her siblings conform to their mother’s bizarre style of “matching”.

The three siblings are wearing outfits with different patterns on the belts, shirts, and pants. None of the orders of patterns are the same for each sibling, yet each has one of each pattern: clockwork, steam powered, and Tesla coil.
-None of the boys have any matching article.
-Two siblings have shirts that have the steam powered pattern.
-Two siblings have belts that have clockwork pattens.
-One of the boys has pants that have the steam powered pattern.

What is the order for each sibling?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: There are two boys and one girl. Each of them has one article with Steam Powered, one article with Tesla Coil, and one article with Clockwork patterns. There are none that match in all three locations, but it's okay if some of them match in some places.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: Keep in mind the first fact and the fact that none of the three are an exact match when you read the second and third facts.

After finally getting her outfit straight, Trista heads out into the streets to find her mechanical friend. She asks anyone who passes her way if they’ve seen him, but alas, there’s been no sighting.

That is, not until she meets a kind elderly woman sitting on a bench, feeding some birds. When Trista asked if she’d seen Mika, the old lady responds, “Oh, yes. I’ve seen him.”

“Great! Could you tell me where he went?”

“I could, but only if you help me first, you see, I have a little problem...”

“If, in three days, the day after two days following yesterday is a friday, in how many days will my train leave if it leaves on the second monday after today?”

Help Trista answer the old lady’s question so that she can find Mika.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: Counting for days does not include today. Skip today when you count days for your answer.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: "Yesterday" is not today's yesterday. It's the yesterday that it will be in three days. How many days from today is that? Three days forward, one day back...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 3: The "Today" in this puzzle is not today, the date that this post was made, nor today, the day that you are reading this. The answer to this puzzle will be the same, no matter when I ask. Consider the relationship between Friday and "today", and use that "today" to count for your answer.

I picked the three boys one, because I thought the one with two boys was too easy D:

Trista helps the elderly woman with her problem and is told that Mika was last seen in a warehouse just up the road. Dutifully, Trista heads off in that direction. However, much to her dismay, she finds that her entrance is barred.

“But you don’t understand!” she pleads with the security guard. “I need to find my pet ferret, and he’s in there!”

“I’m sorry,” he responds, “But they’re moving some boxes and you can’t be let in until they’re done. Come back then.”

“When will that be?” she reluctantly resigns.

“Why don’t you find out for yourself?” he says to her.

Two men are moving 11 boxes from one floor to the other floor of the warehouse. The larger man can hold two boxes, and it takes him one minute and thirty seconds to get upstairs, and the same amount of time to return for another box. Likewise, the smaller man can only hold one, and it takes him forty-five seconds. How long will it take for all 11 boxes to be moved, so that Trista can enter the warehouse?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: The two men leave at the same time. They are working together to bring all the boxes to the second floor, after all. The larger man takes twice as long to get from one floor to the other, and he can bring twice as many boxes. They do not waste any amount of time picking up and dropping off the boxes, nor do they take any extra or less time to go back downstairs to get more boxes. The time listed for each man is both the time it takes to get upstairs as well as the time it takes for them to get back down. (So a round trip would be twice that time.)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: The answer is not "the time it takes for them to finish their job." The answer is the time it takes for them to move all the boxes. Start counting when they start picking up boxes, and stop counting when the last box is delivered.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 3: Conveniently, the larger man take twice as long as the smaller man. While calculating the time, leave the number of seconds and minutes out of the equation till the very end. Find out how many trips it takes for 11 boxes to be delivered, and multiply that number by 45 seconds.

Need clarification. Same ammount of time as they individually take to move the crates, or both take the identical ammount of time as the other to get back to the warehouse?

“Mika? Oh! You mean that cute little clockwork ferret! Yeah, he was snooping around the warehouse looking for some old relic or another,” came what felt like the very first straight answer that Trista had been given all day.

“Oh, thank you! I’m so relieved,” she sighed, “So...where is he?”

“Ah, well I couldn’t just let him run around the warehouse, so I put him in my coat pocket.”

“Well...can I have him?”

“Of course! Of course!” the warehouse worker laughed, “Here you are, one ferre--Hey! This isn’t my coat!”

“Of course it isn’t,” Trista muttered under her breath, “Who has your coat, then?”

Five workers are heading home from a day of work, but they seem to have mismatched all their coats. So badly, in fact, that not one person is wearing their own coat! In order to help find out whose coat is whose, they line up, like so:

A,B,C,D,E
A says, “I know this jacket belongs to either C or E.”
B says, “I see someone at the end is wearing my coat.”
C says, “I’m pretty sure this coat I’m wearing does not belong to A.”
D says, “Neat! Both B and I are are wearing coats that belong to people at the ends.”
E says, “From left to right, I can see that my coat is after A’s coat.”

Find the proper owner of all the coats being worn.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: People at the ends are referred to twice. They are either A, or E, since everyone lined up.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: B's statement and D's statement don't seem to be very helpful. They're saying almost the same thing. Maybe E's statement can help...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint: Don't get confused by the way E worded his statement. All he means is that his coat is somewhere to the left of A's coat. He doesn't mention anything about the people wearing the coats.

Meanwhile, Mika puzzled over a conundrum of his own. “How the heck am I supposed to read this stupid map? There are no landmarks! Only the path that I’m supposed to take.”

The map that Mika has will lead him one step closer to the treasure. It shows the path that he’s supposed to take, and the streets that lead there, however it doesn’t tell him where to start, or where to stop. Only streets. Directions are to start off going straight, and then take the first left. Then go straight at the next intersection, and take the first left after it. After that, take the first right, and then the next left. Where is the destination? (Your answer should be in the form of a letter then a number.)

http://puu.sh/bSie
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: Left and right here refer to turns you would make if you were actually on the streets. Try to imagine actually walking around on that map, or rotate the map so that whatever direction you're traveling is up.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: There is only one starting position with one starting direction that will lead you to the destination. Starting anywhere else, or even starting in the right spot and going in the wrong direction will result in you having to turn into nothing! (Also, although you need to find the correct starting position, the answer should only be the destination you arrive at.)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 3: Draw the directions first, then put it on top of the map. When you get it so that none of the path is off the map, you've solved it.

Running back and forth trying to find Mika, Trista finds herself once again asking the old woman from before if she knows of her pet’s whereabouts, and once again, the old lady asks Trista to help her with an issue of her own before letting on.

The old lady asks, ”If 14 days after 70 days ago was 21 days before three days after a tuesday, what day will it be in 7 days before 83 days after today?”
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: This puzzle would need a full on calendar if you want to go back that many days. A simple list of the days of the week won't cut it. (Or will it...?)

Hint 2: There's something in common with each numeral. If you can see the pattern, this puzzle is as good as solved.

At the end of the day, Trista reluctantly heads home. Having only secured one good lead (ironically from the old woman with no sense of time) she decides to just call it a day and head out tomorrow. Mika, however, would have no such luck.

While he certainly would have liked to stop and make a little ferret-sized campsite for himself, he had one large obstacle in his way. You see, he had finally made his way out of the city and to the large stone door that marked the entrance to the ruins where the treasure slept. Mika intended to set up camp just inside, but the door won’t budge.

“Let’s see,” Mika muttered to himself as he read various engravings, “I’m supposed to choose the figurine named ‘White’ and rotate it 180 degrees? That’s easy, the white cat is right here. Wait a minute...that’s too easy!”

Five cat figurines arranged in a row. They are of five colors, and each cat is named after a color. The colors are, Purple, Blue, White, Green, and Black. However, none of the cats are the same color for which they are named. There is an engraving underneath the cats that says:
-There are two cats between Green and Black.
-Purple and the purple cat are both on the edges.
-Black and the black cat are both touching either Purple or the purple cat.
-Neither Green nor Purple are touching White.

Which cat is White?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: Keep in mind that the question only asks for which cat is named white. You do not need anything other than that.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: Pay close attention to when a statement refers to the name of a cat versus the actual color of a cat. If you can help from getting mixed up, this puzzle will be much easier.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 3: There isn't enough information to determine all the correct color and name combinations. Don't try to find that out. There is, however, enough information to find out which cat is named White. That's all you need.

Normally, I wouldn't want to talk too much about what the puzzle means instead of giving hints, but this one requires that clarification, I think.

Yes, capitalized colors are the name of the cat. When describing the cat's color, not only is the color lowercase, but it's in the form "the (color) cat".

“Ah, that was refreshing,” said Mika as he awoke. His gears inside all began turning and warming, when...POP! One of Mika’s components bursts off of his hip.

“Oh, bother. I suppose I’ll need to fix that first...”

In this state, Mika cannot walk. He can still hop, however. He can hop 70 centimeters forward, and then 30 centimeters in whatever direction his tail points. If he travels in a straight line, what is the minimum amount of hops that it takes him to travel to his fallen component, if it landed 10 meters away?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: Mika's second hop must be in whichever direction his tail is pointing. He knows this, and still he wants to make the minimum number of hops.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: He travels in a straight line. All that means is that he won't move side to side. Any kind of movement that results in toward or away movement from the component is acceptable.

Trista wakes up bright and early. There was something oddly refreshing about last night that made her slumber exquisitely restful. As she glides down the stairs and gets ready to leave, her father calls her name from the kitchen.

“Oh! I didn’t know you were awake,” she says as she sits at the table. Across from her, her father sits in his usual work attire. A silt top hat and cape, and matching white, silk gloves, a cane, and a fancy suit in a harlequin pattern. You know, standard attire for a magician.

Trista’s father holds up four cards so that the backs are to her, and tells her, “On the spade is an address of a friend of mine. He’ll help you find out where Mika ran off to.”

“Okay, well which one is the spade?” she asks.

“Ah ah ah! Not so fast. You have to figure it out for yourself.”

-The Heart only touches black suits.
-The Club is either third or fourth.
-The Diamond is not on the edges.
-The Spade is either second or fourth.

Where is the spade?

Trista goes to the address on the face of the card, and finds an antique shop. The sound of a bell ringing as the door opened echoed through the building. Musty, old air matched the various clocks, furniture, and curios that lined musty, old shelves mounted on musty, old walls.

“Hello? Is anyone here?” No answer came back. She sat on a comfy, musty, old chair and waited. While she sat, she saw a letter on the coffee table.

“Dear Grandfather,” it read.

“Thank you for the birthday gift. John was jealous that it was my birthday and not his, but mom said to be patient with him. ‘It’s the eldest’s job to set a good example,’ she says. Anyway, thank you for the gift. Mary’s birthday is coming up soon. You know how many candles she needs on her cake, don’t you? Haha, I’m kidding. Of course you do!”

The letter goes on, but a hastily scribbled note near the bottom of the page catches Trista’s eye. It’s clearly in a different handwriting than the rest of the letter, she presumes it belongs to the grandfather mentioned as she reads, “Oh bother, how old is Mary again?”

Mary is twice as old as the difference between John and Paul’s age. In two years, Mary will be three times this difference. John is twice as old as Mary, and is the oldest. How old are the three?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: The "in two years" part is crucial. Think of how this could be true.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: Think of the difference between John and Paul's age as being one unit, and then read the puzzle again.

“Oh! You figured out how old my grandchildren are!” came a gruff, tired voice from behind.

An elderly man with a kind face looked down on Trista as she wrote her own note beneath the one from before. “You’ve really done me a favor there. Now, how can I help you?” the man said.

“My father sent me here. He told me you would be able to help me find my pet.”

“Ah yes, I remember receiving a note about that. I certainly can help, here, give me a moment.”

The man left and Trista heard the sounds of him rummaging through various shelves and cabinets. When he returned, he held a small lock box, with a dial and an inscription. “Inside this box,” he said, “is the key that will bring you to you lost friend. But you have to solve the riddle in the inscription to open it. Good luck!”

Trista looked down at the box, but when she went to ask why he couldn’t just tell her the answer, he was already gone.

“I supposed there’s no helping it, then,” she muttered to herself as she examined the box. It had one dial that could tell numbers up to 20. The inscription read as follows:

The queen of hearts would like some tarts. Eighteen, to be exact. She summons three cards and tells two of them to fetch the tarts, and one of them to stay and tell her some puzzles. The three cards appear and tell the queen the following:

The Ace says: “Nine and I can get them all in two minutes.”
Seven says: “It would only take Nine and I three minutes.”
Nine says: “It would take the both of you six minutes to get them all.”

How many tarts will Seven have by himself in seven minutes?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: Though the question only asks for Seven's number of tarts, you will invariably find Nine's and Ace's amounts as well. It's a good place to start.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: From the statements, it should be easy to see that Seven is the slowest, and that Nine is the fastest. If you have something other than that, re-read the statements.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 3: It is known throughout the heart kingdom that Seven is exceptionally lazy...

“Oh, I just can’t remember,” the brittle voice of a familiar, time-telling impaired old woman tells Trista.

Inside the lock box was the picture of a person that had apparently been the one to tell Mika of the treasure in the first place. However, now Trista was running up and down the city looking for yet another illusive person.

The old woman, whom Trista had already helped twice before, was scratching her head like she could coax the memory out.

“Well, how about I help you piece together your recollection from what you can remember for sure?” Trista suggested, having already eaten her lunch, seconds, and had time to take a tea while the old woman scrunched her face and muttered such mutterings as, “Now where did he work again?”

Eventually, Trista obtained this information to work with.

Two males are behind a female.
A male is behind a child.
A male and a female are behind a male.
A female is before a child.

How many people, at minimum, does this scene describe?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: Keep in mind that statements about males and females can also be referring to a child.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: This scene could obviously refer to large crowds of people. Try to minimize the amount of people you add to your scene with each statement.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 3: It is never said that all the people are facing the same direction.

Finally, Trista was getting somewhere! She received the location of the archaeologist who first told Mika about the possibility of treasure in some of the ruins far beneath the underworks of the city. And, what’s more, the archaeologist just straight up told her the information! No waiting, not favors, no random issues that needed resolving. Whew!

Unfortunately, on her way to the entrance that led to the underground ruins, she was stopped by a police officer.

“I’m sorry miss, but this is a crime scene. I can’t let you through.”

“But isn’t there any thing you could do? All I need to do is enter the underworks from that entrance right there!”

“Well, I suppose if the crime were to be solved...”

“Of course,” Trista sighs.

A crime was committed and 5 suspects were questioned, each of whom told one lie and one truth. Who was the criminal?

-Jeremy said, "Peter was the one who did it. Don Juan Santiago Lopez was not even here when it happened."
-Peter said, "Cynthia is the criminal. I am innocent!"
-Cynthia said, "Peter is only blaming me because he is guilty. I know for a fact that Jeremy is not the criminal."
-Sophia said, "Don Juan Santiago Lopez is obviously the guilty party. Peter's hands are clean!"
-Don Juan Santiago Lopez said, "Cynthia didn’t do it. But, neither did Sophia."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: Each of the statements is similar except for one. This one statement is the most valuable.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: Of the statements other than the statement referred to in the last hint, only one other is needed to find the criminal. The rest of the statements are trash.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 3: Don Juan Santiago Lopez's is the statement from hint 1, and Peter's is the statement mentioned in hint 2.

Trista makes her way past the commotion on the surface. Beneath the ground, things were so peaceful. Not much more quiet, however. Grinding gears, winding springs, slamming hammers and cams filled Trista’s ears with a repetitive symphony. The mindless continuation of the city’s inner workings was a welcome change from the hurried bustle of the surface.

Trista wandered down winding pathways, and the machinery became more and more sparse the further down she went. Eventually, she came to a chasm with a retractable bridge controlled by a strange sort of device.

Unfortunately, the peculiar machine has lost its components. They must be re-inserted in their proper positions, or else the machine will not function. There are six modules, which we will call A-F. The modules go in a 2 by 3 unit rectangle, like so:

Here are the rules associated with each component:
Module A must be horizontally adjacent to Module B.
Module B must be in the left-most column.
Module C must not be in the left-most column.
Module D must not be horizontally or vertically adjacent to Module C.
Module E must be in the middle column.
Module F must be in the top row.

Mika finds himself in yet another predicament. A locked door with strange engravings blocks his path. He had sought out a friend who would be able to translate the ancient runes, however, the friend has yet to show up.

As it turns out, both Mika’s and his friend’s clocks are wrong! Mika thinks his clock is 10 minutes behind, when it’s really 15 minutes ahead. His friend similarly both has an inaccurate time, and an inaccurate belief of how to correct for the time shown on his clock.

Mika arrives at what he thinks is the proper time, and waits for 40 minutes. When his friend arrives, Mika questions him and the friend says he believed his watch was 5 minutes ahead. If the time the friend arrives is 1:41p.m., what time was he scheduled to arrive, and what do both clocks say when the friend arrives?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: Keep in mind that Mika's clock will say something different at the time the friend arrives than the time he arrives. Amidst all the time keeping, this can be an easily overlooked fact.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: You know that Mika was waiting for 40 minutes, and that the friend arrived at 1:41. That means that you should know when Mika arrived, and thus, what his clock says now (at 1:41).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 3: You aren't told how far off the friend's clock is. But you know when he got there, that is enough to find out what his clock says.

“Trista? What are you doing here?” Mika cries out.

“Looking for you!” she exclaims. “Where are you?”

“Up here!” he calls.

She looks up and sees that, in the center of the ceiling is a grating through which Mika is looking down and shouting. “I think this room has to do with those stones in the middle there,” he continues. “There should be a scale near that door on the far side, you need to fill it with gems from the bowl next to it so that there are the same amount of gems in the scale as there are stones, then pull that lever. Be careful, though. If there is a different amount, then the door will lock.”

Mika describes the scene from above (bottom), and Trista sees the scene from the side (top). If there are the maximum amount of stones possible, how many gems should Trista place in the bowl?

After opening the door, Trista entered into the room where (after much confusion) Mika’s friend sat puzzling over inscriptions on the door. Mika entered just after Trista did, and quickly the two caught up with all that had happened the past few days.

Trista told him of crime scene investigations, frustrating yet oddly helpful old ladies, and explorations through underground tunnels filled with working machinery.

“As a matter of fact,” Mika commented, “I was just doing a bit of exploration myself when who should I stumble upon but little Trista beneath my very two feet. What were you doing down there?”

“I was looking for you! And I should as you the very same question.”

“Well I’m down here to try and open this large door, as is my untimely friend here. As for why I was in the tunnels above you, I was looking for some kind of clue that might help solve the mystery of the engravings. We’ve already worked out two-thirds of the problem, but the last bit is just stumping us. Maybe you would fare better than we.”

Trista follows Mika to the place on the door with the engravings and examines them. Beneath the first block was a note that simply said “Twenty-three”. Likewise the second note said “Sixty-eight”.

The whole gang enters into a dark room, finally bypassing the engraved door thanks to Trista’s intervention. Pillars and columns dot the interior of the room in irregular patterns. Raised dias emits faint illumination, enough to strike it as noticeable in the darkness, but not enough to help the team find their way.

Eventually, a plan is devised so that they can reach the middle of the room without getting lost. Whenever a pillar is reached, the group will turn either right or left at a right angle and continue. The group has opted to not risk traveling along the walls, so if they reach a wall, they will backtrack and return to the start.

http://puu.sh/hmmS

The exclamation mark is the dias, which, because of the steps leading up, must be reached from above. What is the path that the team takes? X's are where pillars are (turn left or right) O's are blanks (move forward and do not turn).
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: The dias' space may not be entered from the sides or from the bottom. Only the space adjacent and above it has stairs.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: Working backwards might prove useful.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 3: If just working backwards isn't enough, try working from both ends at the same time. At that point it should be clear the path that you need.

After stumbling around in the dark, the team reaches the top of the dias.

There is a peculiar machine atop the dias that uses a kind of odd battery labeled with a three digit number.

“Oh bother!” exclaims Mika’s friend as he rummages through his bag, “I’ve put the caps on these batteries all wrong!”

3 1 2 2
1 3 1 2
4 1 3 4
(Bolded = cap)
There is one digit on the battery’s cap and the other two on the body. Find the battery you need if:
-None of the batteries currently wear the correct cap.
-All of the batteries contain a 1 somewhere in the label.
-The battery you need is right of the battery that owns the 3 cap.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: The fact that two of the caps have labels of 2 is the key.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: The label is the part referred to in the first statement. Simply switching the positions of both 2 caps doesn't count.

The peculiar machine whirrs to life upon the insertion of the correct battery. It was quite odd in comparison to much of the technology that Trista was used to seeing around the city, which ran mostly on steam and mechanical power.

“This device runs on some form of energy that the ancients used,” Mika explained, “they called it ‘electricity’.”

Nodes of strange gems began to illuminate with a gentle blue glow, but after a few moments there was a strange sound crackling, and a miniature bolt of lightning sparked out, startling both Trista and Mika’s friend to the ground. When the display was over, the light of the nodes was a dull red, which soon faded away altogether.

“It’s just like the legendary Tesla coil,” Trista marveled, recalling stories of such wonders. She remembered visiting a museum and viewing an actual tesla coil, however, that one was long out of commision.

After regaining his composure, Mika’s friend jumped up an lamented the brilliant spark, which was apparently a bad thing. “Oh no, oh bother,” he repeated, “Now how are we to get this working again?”

Trista peered over his fretful shoulder and saw the exposed insides of the device. Mika leaned in her ear and told her, “To make the device work, the electricity had to be channeled through special paths they called circuits.”

“Yes,” Mika’s friend announced, not bothering to look at the pair, “and none of the circuits may connect with another, or else tragedies like this will happen! Something must have happened over the years that allowed a short circuit to form, possibly moisture build up, or...” he continued to mutter various possibilities to himself before continuing. “Now I have to rebuild all the circuits by hand. How on earth am I supposed to know how this thing looked like while it was functional?”

Trista looked again and saw grooves in the device for wires to be placed, and saw the exposed nodes to be connected.

http://i57.photobucket.com/albums/g206/whyrainfalls/Shymap.png
The displayed nodes (A-F) are parts of circuits for the peculiar machine. The Machine must connect each of the nodes to its counterpart, but none of the circuits may touch, intersect, or cross one another. Draw a line from each lettered node to its counterpart, without touching any other lines.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: You do not need to use every intersection. Some intersections will remain empty.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: The shortest path should be D's. The longest should be C's.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 3: A's path is the most simple. If you're having trouble, start with A, then D, save C for last.

“Well,” the friend starts after a brief pause to realize what just happened, “I need to input some numbers using these two cubes, only I brought the wrong cube by mistake, and one of the numbers is off.”

The numbers 1-32 need to be displayed on a pair of cubes.
1-9 must be proceeded by a 0

The following layout for the cubes was drawn, but there is a single error. Correct it.

http://puu.sh/hLDw
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: The two cubes do not have to always be in the same slots. They can be rotated and alternated as needed to produce all the necessary numbers.

Finally, the peculiar machine’s secrets were unlocked, and the prize arose from the machine after it opened up like an ancient mechanical flower. The treasure that they long sought was in a box, and all they needed to do was take it.

“No, wait!” Mika shouted at his friend as he moved to lift the prize from its pedestal.

But it was too late. As the box was moved, the pressure plate activated and all of the ruins began to crumble and fall.

Stuffing the box in his bag, Mika’s friend turned to follow the other two, had had already begun racing down the steps of the dias. The three ran as fast as they could, but the paths they had used to get this far had been blocked by falling rubble, forcing them to take an unfamiliar path.

Eventually, they came across another chasm, with a strangely inscribed bridge made of stone tiles. Mika grabbed both Trista and his friend as they were about to walk out onto the stone platform.

“Honestly, be more careful!” Mika chided, “The floor here is trapped. Only certain tiles are safe to stand on, look at the runes on the floor.”

http://puu.sh/iluc

“But how are we supposed to know which tiles are safe,” Trista asked, “when most of the runes have weathered away? Only two of them are even legible!”

“I’m familiar with this pattern of inscription. Only three runes are used, and none of the runes touch runes that match themselves,” Mika's friend announced with a satisfied look on his face.

If the group starts on the space marked with a square and exclamation point, what is the safe path to reach the arrow at the top of the diagram?

Oh yeah, the group can take steps the go for two tiles. Also, the rune that isn't shown is the safe one.

After making it across, the group finds a way out on the other side of a sewer drainway. Using pieces of scrap metal lying around, the group manages to form a crude and ineffective boat. Because the boat was made so quickly, and out of poor materials, it can only hold 125 pounds without sinking.

Mika weighs 100 pounds, Trista weighs 75 pounds, and Mika’s friend weighs 50 pounds, and the box weighs 50 pounds.

How can they share the boat to get across?
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 1: There are only a few possible passenger combinations with a weight limit like that. Think about how you can move the box, and how you can move Mika.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hint 2: To move Mika, he needs to go alone. To move the box, it needs to be carried by Mika's friend.

Answer: Send the friend and the box, have him leave the box and come back. Trista and the friend cross, and Trista brings the boat back. Mika crosses alone, then the friend goes back for Trista and brings her across.

I dont know if this would be too much info to give out...but clarification when you say they both weight 50 pounds, is that, they both individually weigh 50 or they both combined weigh 50?

I see how that would be confusing, orz. Together, they weigh 100 pounds. They each weigh 50. Yeah, he's a beast and just lugs around his own weight plus more, haha.

It isn't really something that needs to be said, if you think about the fact that they need to be able to take the safe path, and the safe path consists of spaces that span two tiles, but I'll clarify further.

You don't need to worry about how large of a step the team needs to make. They can reach steps that go from one rune to another of the same type. Just find the safe path.

Emerging from the collapsing rubble, the trio catch their breath and let the gravity of what just happened settle on their minds. After a few silent moments, Trista bursts into uncontrollable laughter.

She comments as she reflects on everything that happened to her on her adventure, "It's finally over!"

"Not quite," Mika responds, "there's still one thing left."

Pulling out a key, he turns to the box. "One of these unlocks the treasure. If a wrong keyhole is used, the locks will jam and never open."

"Just a moment," Mika's friend says as he examines the box. After a few minutes of close scrutiny, he puts the box down.

Mika asks, "Well? Do you know the right keyhole?"

"Yes," he responds.

"Great! Which is it?"

"Well...I don't actually know the right one. But! I do know that:

-The correct one should be adjacent to more vertical keyholes than horizontal ones.
-It should only be adjacent to one keyhole with a red outline (including itself.)
-Is either left or right of a horizontal keyhole."

Hint 1: Each statement restricts the possible answers. If you're having trouble finding the correct one, don't check every keyhole. Check only the ones not restricted by the previous statements.
