This is one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make

I'm having a surgery preformed on me soon, and I won't be able to exercise like I used to for a good 3-6 weeks
so my aunt suggested a get a puppy, it will keep me company when I'm home alone but also keep me active but not /too/ active

My 2 year old mini schnauzer named Papa is less.. playful? but he'd be company since he's such a lovable lug.

But I've been thinking, since I recently lost my female dog, Maggie, and that I prefer to have a female dog as a companion, I'm thinking about getting another small dog since it's obvious Papa misses Maggie as much as I do.

So I'm considering getting a female schnauzer and naming her "Mama" for the cutesie effect.
