Painting Anybody?

So for a graduation present my old neighbors got me an easel, some canvas, paint, brushes, pencils. An artists dream.

I've never really painted before so I was wondering if anybody had any experience with it. I'm so excited though~

Hitting up google for any tips atm.

I used to paint a lot when I was little, but it wasn't anything serious, of course.

You should just paint what comes to mind, do what you want, instead of following a technique.

You can start by making a flag.
Step 1: Make a red circle in the middle.

Well I was gonna paint Mabinogi stuff, cause that'd be awsum. But I need some practice. I don't want to follow techniques just learn the ropes by hand and get any useful help from those who have prior experience with it.

Basically practice makes perfect and experimenting is usually the best way to get better

When I actually have access to paint I like to do landscapes~ I just kinda plan it as I go along.
My inspiration was/is Bob Ross, cuz when I was younger I'd always watch his painting show. :awesome:
To make it Mabi-related, you could paint the vast snowfields of Physis, or Corrib Valley cuz that place is so pretty. :glare:
