Why do sandbox games seem to attract autism, dyslexia, ADD, ADHD, and teenagers(who I will also group with weeaboos)?
I'm not trying to offend anyone, I'm just curious.

I kinda wonder the same thing.
My brother's addicted to Terraria because there's always something new for him to do, or at least something he thinks is new.
(he fits into that group you specified btw.)

For a couple reasons, it gives them something to completely zoom in on and focus on and not get bored of easy, letting them build anything they want at a drop of a hat lets them freely express themselves. As for add and adhd it's always something new they can do.
All of that wrapped into one little package hits a lot of points that these groups of people tend to enjoy/be fixated on.

If you group teenagers with weeaboos.. wouldn't that mean you are/were also one at some point?

I've also never quite understood the popularity of sandbox games. They're alright for what they are, but there isn't a lot to them... I guess I just don't have that creativity. I'd rather have a linear path that I enjoy than an open world filled with things that just kinda pass time.
I'm still considering Terraria and Minecraft, but mainly just to see if I'm missing out on much.

It's because they tend to be simple. No complicated riddles, abstract writing, or even much of a story. They tend to get confused by this, and not quite understand this. With an advanced memory, they can easily be creative in sand box games.

In a word:
FREEDOM
It can also attract mod developers who feel like making something in the sandbox. For example, story-based maps in Minecraft, or the many game modes of Garry's Mod.
Or, you know, they could be, I don't know...fun?
