Witches suddenly declare war against humans, causing the world to fall apart. Two-thirds of the world fell under their rule. Surviving countries united and gathered people with the power to combat the witches. These individuals are called Witch Hunters.
Tasha Godspell, a Witch Hunter, nicknamed "The Magic Marksman" along with his "Jack-o'-lantern"-looking Supporter hunts witches but cannot bring himself to hate them. His main purpose is to find his master and his father's killer --- his younger sister who transcended into a witch and turn her back.

My opinion on Witch Hunter is that it is similar to D.Grayman, only that we aren't chasing Akuma and Fallen Angels, but Witches. Of course, I also thought this because of the character designs and clothing. Hell, the Protagonist, Tasha, is so much like Allen of D.Grayman (they both LOVE money and will do anything for it). Otherwise, this series is a separate story of itself, and a very interesting one at that.

This is one of those amazing series that are just fantastic in every way possible but will never ever get an anime (a good one anyways) because its a manhwa. :<

There are plenty of animes that followed the manga properly.

The anime adaptations that split off usually do it because they managed to catch up to the manga, but the manga never finished. They can take three options here.

1. Finish the series with another ending (FMA, Elfen Lied, Soul Eater, etc)
2. Span it out with filler arcs until a new batch of canon is available (Naruto, Bleach, etc)
3. Cut it to a hiatus and hope that one day it will get a new season (D Gray Man, Black Lagoon, etc)

In cases like Negima, or series that tend to be a visual novel or light novel, the storyline is intentionally changed from the very start for the anime adaptation. This can either go two ways. Excellent or fail.

Take Code Geass, for example. The manga was absolute ****. How it managed to get an anime is beyond me. But it did. And they turned it into an awesome piece of work.

Obviously, starting a Witch Hunter anime now wouldn't be a good idea, as it would end up like another FMA.

But I would like to see an eventual adaptation. Its too good a series to not get one.

Tarras on the other hand was able to pull that and call it "Going Easy".

You have to understand that using his Desert Eagle puts a huge reactionary force on Tasha, something that the human body is not made to withstand. Tarras on the other hand uses...well I'm not exactly sure :/
