the good thing about mabi is that once you spend enough nx to high level character, you don't need do keep on using nx anymore.
I also never used any nx for maple, but i stopped playing it because of mabi.

Though you can buy a gold magnet for like 5 more dollars, which will make them pick gold up for you.

Don't forget the HP/MP pouches for 2 bucks each that has your pets spam pots for you, so you only have to play half the game.

There are three-month items and permanent items.

You can use family warp/ tele.

You can use family 2x and events(such as Hunter's Luck, Dual Blade buff, 2x events, etc.) I rarely use 2x cards and training is still pretty easy, but then again...I'm a Bishop.

Nonetheless, I'd say NX is WAYYY more "efficient" on mabinogi
Nexon's just bragging about their "free to play" (in quotes since it's not really free to play in some cases) in response to some of the more popular p2p games like WoW
