Police said a Portsmouth woman was arrested Sunday after she allegedly bribed a child to steal his mother's prescription Percocet.

Police said Shannon Leathers promised the 9-year-old boy a video game in return for stealing the drugs. Authorities said the incident happened at an apartment complex on Holiday Drive in Portsmouth, where Leathers was staying with her sister.

Police said the boy's mother noticed the pills were missing and when she questioned her son about, he confessed to giving the drugs to Leathers.

Police said Leathers was arrested and charged with felony counts of possessing a narcotic, criminal solicitation, receiving stolen property and a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child. She was arraigned Monday and is expected back in court on Aug. 11.

I thought the story where the monk lured the kid with a wii was funnier.
