There was an outbreak of Pertusis in California.
Is anyone getting a vaccination? I didn't I would since I'm all the way in Michigan and I'll be going to college. But my mom is telling me to get one.
Is anyone else getting the shot? Or planning to?

Also, a word of advice. Take some advil beforehand. It will help ease some of the pain since I guess my mother is telling me it might hurt a bit. She's a doctor.

I heard it a month or so back.
Apparently there's been cases of Pertussis in the city where I'm going to college at. So now It makes more sense to why my mom wants me to get it.

There are plenty of other ways to prevent disease other than taking potentially harmful/ineffective vaccinations. For example, vitamin D prevents flu a lot better than the flu shot does. Also, raw garlic/onion knocks out most viral and bacterial diseases in a matter of days.

I've never taken a flu shot or any of these random retarded things in my life and I'm 10 times healthier than the people I know who do get them.
Like Sparta mentioned, I do eat onions and garlic a lot, and get tons of vitamin D, along with lots of other good things.

Hope your breath smells good >:

And I hate getting vaccinations. Only one case of Swine Flu showed up in my town, but that's probably 'cause I live in the most random place ever.... I find no reason to get the vaccinations though unless the disease is threatening me pretty directly.

If you're 15 I think you should be okay. I don't know what its like for an adult but I can't imagine it being comfortable.
If you have a little sibling then I would maybe talk to your mom about it.

I think if you're visiting you should be fine.

If anyone's curious to what it sounds like or looks like here's a video.

The reason to why its so deadly to little kids is because their lungs are smaller and they can literally suffocate or lose their breath from the cough.
I mean I guess you don't have to get a vaccination, but if you come down with it at least seek medical attention right away.

Also I'm not telling everyone they should get a vaccination, just simply putting this out here to keep you all safe and healthy~
