I've soloed boats 1 and 2 in Closed Beta. So I'm here to share some tips, and to keep track of my Knowledge.

1.) Beginner's guide to Items and Crafting

-In the beginning keep all your items. Don't sell them/throw them away! Unless you have too much of it.
Why should I keep all my items? Because you'll most likely need them in the future. (for crafting or as a quest item)
================================================== =====================
-List of important materials:
Note: Materials are used to craft items
a. Iron ore.
b. Leather
c. Cloth
d. Life Erg
e. (Not sure what else. Please tell me if there are other important items)

-About Iron Ore
http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/Iron_Ore_Item.png
Iron ore is pretty much used for crafting a lot of Weapons, Armors, Etc.
It's always good to have a large amount of it!
NEVER use it to craft secondary weapons (ex: Spears)
Found by throwing mine bombs near a rock with shiny stuff sticking out. Or by Dredges

-About Leather:
http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/Leather_Item.png
Just like Iron ore, it's used for a lot of weapon, armor, etc. Crafting
It's always good to have a large amount.

Fine Metal solvent is used to make higher- leveled metal equipment.
You cannot buy this. You have to craft it using an acidic poison pouch.
================================================== =====================

-Secondary Weapons List:
a. Spear
b. Bomb
c. Chain Hook
Note: You can craft these, but I don't recommend it! It's better to buy them

2.) Some important NPCs
-Ferghus
He is very important in Vindictus for crafting Armors and Weapons + repairing. ( Repairing!!??)

-Kirstie

http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/2010_08_23_0002-1.jpg
-Brynn
He's the one to go to if you want to craft some nice potions or feathers. He also sells normal HP/Stam/Attack potions

http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/2010_08_23_0004-1.jpg
================================================== =====================
3.) Quests / Battle Missions
-Get as much quests as possible before going to dungeons!
The NPCs might ask you to find a item for them in one of the dungeons. Try not to miss these quests! You don't wanna waste some silver coins just to redo a boss for an item.

-Get as much battle points as you can!
You don't want to redo a Battle mission because you don't have enough BP to advance to another Battle Mission.

Fiona
-About Fiona
Fiona is a defensive character. I recommend playing her if you like to play alone.
http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/Fiona_Concept_Art_3.png

Skills

Note: Skills you may want to rank are in GREEN

1.Smash skills
About Amaranth Kick
This is the skill that'll you'll be using over thousands of times on your enemies. (Especially Bosses).
It does incredible damage.
You'll have to swing your sword four times to charge it, unfortunately.
About Ivy Sweep http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/Smash_Ivy_Sweep_Skill.png
Ivy sweep isn't that great. (yet)
I recommend using it on mobs.
Currently has two smashes. ( In the future, 3.)
You'll need to charge it up by swinging you sword 3 times.

2.Defensive Skills
About heavy stander http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/Heavy_Stander_Skill.png
This skill will save you many times! Rank it sometimes!
Used as your last resort; when you cannot dodge a smash attack.
Defends against smash attacks
About Shield Mastery http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/Shield_Mastery_Skill.png
Decreases how heavy your shields are.
Increases Shield Durability
About Guard
At rank 9, guard lets you do Amaranth after two hits. [From Bakuryu]
Mostly used to block non-smash attacks.

3.Passive Skills
About Critical Hit
You want Critical hit to Atleast rank E because it adds 10% damage @ a 10% chance to your smashes
About Combat Mastery http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/Combat_Mastery_Skill.png
Combat mastery adds some damage to your normal attacks.
You don't really want to rank it a lot as a Fiona because you'll pretty much always use your smash attacks.
Rank this to D in order to get smash mastery.
About Smash Mastery http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/Smash_Mastery.png
It increases your smash damage by a very small amount. But greatly increases your stun chances!
About Heavy/Plate Armor Proficiency
Decreases how heavy armor is.
Increases Durability.
Increases Defense.

4. Misc. Skills
About campfire http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/Campfire_Skill.png
Campfire comes with an anvil.
While sitting near a campfire, eventually it'll give you an Armor Regen. Boost that prevents you from repairing your shield so much. (from Invertex)
The higher the rank, the better the effects

================================================== =====================
Her Combos:
Combo 1: ( L click + R click ) a swing of her sword followed by a powerful slash.
Combo 2 (Blossom): ( L+L+R ) two swings of her sword followed by a thrust of her shield
Combo 3 (Ivy Sweep): ( L+L+L+R ) three swings of her sword followed by a shield bash, a powerful slash ( And in the future; a roundhouse kick)
Combo 4 (Amaranth Kick): 4 swings of her sword and an extremely powerful kick.
================================================== =====================
How to solo/dodge Bosses:
Note: Every single boss is vulnerable during/after they attempt to attack you.
Note2: Try not to block too much. It kills your shield and you don't really wanna repair during battle.
-Gnoll Chieftain (The Ruins, Decisive Battle)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zFDMHzcNwFs&hd=1
http://i284.photobucket.com/albums/ll5/Chocobolifee/Untitled.png
When the Chieftain swings his hammer, roll diagonally to the right and then slash 4 times and amaranth kick his butt. THEN roll away. When done correctly, you'll have time to run away before his next attack.

Note: Always Amaranth kick his butt! He has to turn around two times ( if you look closely at the video )to try to hit you again.

-Sturdy Emuloch (Hoarfrost Hollow, Kobold Chief)
Here's a nice example on guarding [Requested by Zid] + dodging ALL in one situation!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNm9SooTVAs

-Etunoch (Hoarfrost Hollow)
Here's a boss/mini Boss that requires guarding. Do not try to use combos 3 or 4. It doesn't always work on him.

Nice start :O Hope to see you expand it more later on.

Oh yeah, I see you mention gear in a heading, but don't really expand at all ._.;; Might want to cover equipment for certain level Fionas, and best ways to use your tokens, etc.

Obtained by killing Formors is a pretty genric statement, try to specify which drop what.
I know Dredges (those tentacle things) drop ores, and Gnolls/Kobolds drop cloth. Also worth noting is that you never said where to buy the secondary weapons, try to include that. This also skips over Copper Ore, the gems, Silver Ore, Kobold Cloth, and some other crafting materials (like Spider webs). Those Mystical Pots are refered to as Erg Pots, also try to mention what other Ergs do (such as Eternity Erg Crystals are used to craft party feathers). Brynn also sells normal HP Potions and Stam/Attack boost ones as well, so you should mention that. Also try to mention Sewing Kits, Metal Clamps, Tannin, Metal Solvent, and the fine variants of crafting materials.

A few move names are wrong also (Ivy Sweeper is really Evy Sweep in game). Combo 2 is called Blossom as well.

Just a few thoughts from a quick read through, may add some more later.

The boss part, you focused on dodging, which is fine and all. But Fiona's blocking abilities is where she really shines. Even against Gnoll Chieftain.

Mention specific tactics that only Fiona can pull off, especially with her shield.

But blocking a lot can kill your shield :C

IMO, you want to save your shield from breaking as much as possible b/c you don't wanna to repair during a battle. But yeah, I'll make a short clip on a situation with blocking

Well, if you save your shield too much, it's just a waste then. No point in a Fiona besides Amaranth Kick.

I'm not saying spam your shield usage, but at the same time, just holding it back could do more harm than good. And in battle (without timed-based Oath of Honor), you can always set up a Campfire in the boss room early on and repair your stuff anytime and as many time as you want. Thus, that reduces the need to actually preserve your shield in battle.

Also, your shield gets automatically repaired between battles. Finally, Ferghus repairs your shield's condition to full for a very cheap price.

I need to correct myself, it's Ivy Sweep not Evy Sweep (I need more sleep >>).
Also, the campfire buffs (not the anvil) really make blocking/countering often very viable. A high rank campfire buff can keep your shield intact for a very long time.

Heavy Stander should only be used as last resort. The missions so far are super easy compared to the higher level ones. You can dodge everything super easily now. So doing heavy stander is usually a waste of dura that could be used on counter attack. Also, if you don't have heavy stander at rank B or A (at least) then you are better of dodging. And usually dodging by the least distance as safely possible will allow you to get in a smash hit that you wouldn't be able to do after Heavy Stander, so heavy stander should only be used when you see dodging will not be possible.
But for guard then yes, Guard is better than dodging, specially when you get it to rank 9, which allows you to do amaranth kick after only 2 hits (like you would do blossom) after a perfect guard.

Also you need to take care of your shield, you don't want a high deterioration on it for obvious reasons. But by the time it has a high deterioration you should be able to re-craft one anyways (or craft a higher quality one).

Also, the campfire buffs (not the anvil) really make blocking/countering often very viable. And this is something really important, the Armor Regeneration buff is plain amazing for Fiona. I like to rank campfire early, because it really gives you so many more counter attacks.

Didn't know the campfire buff effects the durability of shield. Thanks :D

You should split the fiona and general info guides so it's more accessible to people searching for specific things. (can just copy paste the fiona one to a new thread and then delete the one here). I can publish them both once it's done.
