I have some ideas to incorporate all of the characters, but if that is the case, the game will take a lot more time. But everyone can definitely be a NPC at least.

General main character abilities. A little ability in everything, though focusing more on melee combat. Personality is one of the loveable idiot protagonist types (Goku, Scott Pilgrim, etc.), though does get serious when he needs too. You know, generic, generic.

Won't work unless the game is going to be a class-based run'n'gun platformer, because that mech only faces two directions, left and right.

Why does it need to face up and down? It's not like it's going to be an overworld sprite, is it? o3o; /Thought it would work out if my character only piloted it during battle.

That depends on what the battle system will be. Currently I'm using one akin to Earthbound, in which the enemy will only be a single image on the screen but I may change it to the ATB Battle System which is with animated sprites duking it out on the screen.

In that case, then that means you're casting yourself as a villain, because RPG Maker only does battles in First Person view (think Mother series), so you won't be seeing yourself fight the enemies. And if you are casting yourself as the villain, it would probably be better that you try making your own sprite that has a more detailed look for your character, similar to how Kefka has his overworld sprite and a detailed battle sprite.

Nevermind what I said, the RPG Maker I used before didn't have any scripts that allowed a Final Fantasy-esque battle system (or I just couldn't find one for some reason), so ignore me.

What could my guy do....He could....OMG! Unless death comes and wants to do this, could I like, be there, and if the character dies, "Bring them back in time" to the last save point? Or you could think of an actual position....

I never played half life/half life 2, but I saw the end of one, and theres this dude that like freezes time right when the guy was about to die (?), so I would be like that guy.

Skills: Flying Melee :3 With my wings i fly around hitting people with a massive scythe. Also can do a short ranged teleport (think DBZ :B)

Description: He's very silent and likes to keep to himself. On the outside he appears kind and helpful, but on the inside dark magic is eating away at his soul, thus somewhere along the line he snaps and possibly becomes a boss for the other party members ;D (also gains shadow powers) If you kill him then I revert to my original form, if you keep me alive (get me down to low health and use a spell/item) I remain in shadow form and lose my ability to fly, but gain special magic or something o:

Description: Good-natured, if kind of over-protective, kid. Timid around people, but kind. Not overly-serious, although he sometimes overreacts to situations. Likes animals, but not that good with them. Doesn't like being alone. Afraid of bugs. An okay cook. :P

In Mabi, my human was, but in this thing, I apparently been roped into being a Paladin, and I already called main character (even though it changed now), so I figured I'd make the Paladin class an all around class that focuses more on melee. You know, like pretty much every other protagonist in RPGs.

For random purposes my character will be wearing a hood.(More like they don't have flaming heads and such.)

Class: Necromancer
Skills: Various summoning skills of the Undead, and Black Magic mainly
Purpose in the game: Antagonist/End-game Character or Reviver
If I was placed as an NPC I'd probably be at the Game Over screen like what Timexpo said, asking if you wish to continue or not. If not, being the antagonist of the game would be okay.

Personality and relation to some story event: A friendly Grim Reaper who can't stop being friendly when he gives up on the world and plans on ending it with the help of his right hand man, who does all the work for him since Death doesn't know how to think of evil schemes on ending the world(Think Garland in Nukelar Power with Sara). Eventually, the party members convert him back to good and for all that is goodness and the right hand man goes off and starts his own evil scheme, which makes the crew go after him as the real antagonist, which I do not know who he is. Death will fail on those scenes where you can see the antagonists plot their total destruction of the world(think Kefka in FF6, like poisoning the river and stuffs), which leaves his right hand man to back him up. He's got unimaginable otherworldly powers which dragged the right hand man in to helping him destroy the world, but doesn't know how to use them right and was lured in by cookies.

Skills: Alchemy, Healing Magic, Cooking
Personality: As a character she could be that slightly spontaneous person that could blurt out random but eerily relevant lines. Could be clever in solving things and tinkering with objects (fixing OR breaking them.) Then again, she could be a bit spacey and not pay attention to things. Severely dislikes men due to a bad history of them chasing her. But that quality is waning, as she already is in a relationship. Has a tendency to lose things.
Other: To differentiate from the other healers, her heal is single-target. Because of this, the magic is more concentrated and thus, stronger.
I'm not sure how Alchemy attacks will work but I got some ideas. Maybe the less it is used, the stronger it gets overtime? Like say one turn passes = one charge. If not, maybe some side effects would work better.
Maybe for cooking, it could be a small HP/MP restoration or stat boost, much like cooking from the Tales games?

Personality: Laid back, but very serious about battle. During battle, he is all offense and no defense, preferring to use two weapons instead of having a shield, and almost no armour for ease of movement.

Tends to prefer colder climates.

I'm not sure what the plot is, even after reading the thread, so I'm just gonna jot down whatever based off the style of the sprite, which seems to be more of a older age, something like Tales of Symphonia style. Basing most stuff off Final Fantasy stuff. Lol...

This was real fun so I couldn't stop typing... LOLWUT? You don't need to use it but it was just fun typing all this down.

Gender: Male (Female/Flat Chested [ftw])
Age: 16
Role: Side Quest Character(?)

Class: Light Swordsman w/ Support Magick (Swordsman without the Heavy Armor, Main Weapons are One-Side Bladed Swords.)
Skills: Fast/Speed Based Sword Techniques. Attack/Speed based Support Magic.
Signature Attack (Description): Sokushibou, Uses the Japanese Sword technique Iai (unsheathing sword and striking and unsheathing faster than the eye can see) and strikes through opponent through vital points which can cause instant death or if they manage to survive, still very high chance of critical damage.
Stats: Slightly above average Strength. Slightly above average Magic. Below average Vitality. Average Spirit. Very high Speed. Very high Accuracy. Fairly high Evasion. Average Luck. Average HP and MP.

Personality: Shes has plenty of self-control and has lightly matured after turning into a male, though she was more of a tom-boy to begin with. Since she has been surrounded by only females as she grew up, she is fairly shy of and somewhat afraid of men, so her personality will change when speaking to them, she becomes more feminine, or so you can say.

Past: Kaira was the top of her classes at Knights Academy for Girls and was respected, as well as hated by some who didn't like that respect. After winning the Academy Tournament, which is held every year to label the best, Kaira was unwilling fully turned into a Male by some sort of curse. She had assumed it was someone who lost to her and wanted revenge. Kaira was then forced out of the Academy for being Male as no one believed her story. Kaira is now looking for a way to undo the curse and goes through a lot of trouble she would never had to as a Female. The only lead she had were beautiful white feathers left behind after the unknown person had cursed her. Partway, Kaira gets involved with a shy and quiet girl named Selfy who wears an eye patch on her left eye which Kaira finds out both their goals may be the same and lead towards the same destination, so she helps Selfy as she focuses on both of their goals. She uses Kai as her Male name.

Story: Side Quest 1 - Meet Kaira in a quarrel in town where shes helping another girl, Selfy, whos getting bullied by a gang of guys which end up to be thieves. Help her fend off the thieves and protect the girl. She tells you her male name and leaves as the other girl follows her.

Side Quest 2 - Selfy's gone missing and Kaira needs your help yo find her. She was kidnapped by thieves, although these are no ordinary thieves, they have a bad feeling aura bout them, as if they were minions of hell. The leader of the group turns out to me a 'Soldier of Heaven' and has wings which resemble the feathers left when Kaira was transformed. She explains her goal and Selfy's which is related to her left eye. After saving Selfy, they part ways again.

Side Quest 3 - Kaira and Selfy are looking for information about 'Heaven', and find and old man who said he's seen people with white wings before, near the the highest mountain. With that information, the 2 decide to go to the mountain, you can chose to go or not, if you do, you then move onto the 4th side quest.

Side Quest 4 - After reaching the mountain, you find a hidden platform, which is a teleporter. This teleports you above the clouds into a unknown territory. You'll fight many 'Soldiers of Heaven' to find the boss. After reaching the final point, you find the one and only, Kami. You have to fight him, and win. He explains he sent the Soldier after Selfy because left eye has be stolen and he has lost a vast amount of power. Then out of no where, a cloud turns black and a dark chill goes though the characters back. A woman you do not know appears, wearing black robe with blood red eyes. She speaks to Kaira saying "Are you enjoying the body I gave you?" and laughs, then smiles and points her fingers at Selfy and she walks towards her as if she were being controlled. Selfy then disappears with her into the darkness of the cloud. After that, you separate, as Kaira goes off to find Selfy alone.

Side Quest 5 (Final) - While wandering around in the forest, you find Kaira in a battle between the Black Robed Person, who's true identity becomes unknown until you win. I guess you can make it the Principle of the Academy she use to go to. You join the battle and defeat the Black Robed Person. After winning, a voice appears, which seems to be Selfy's, and says stuff, you can decide on text. Then she appears out of the shadow, with two different eye colors. The Black Robed Person laughs and says that she has corrupted the eye with the power of darkness and that eye has corrupted her. That eye is the one that belonged to Kami. Then she is devoured by Selfy's shadow. Final Battle begins, you are to fight Selfy. Shes a lot difficult than you'd think, with the eye, she can use high level magic and it is constantly healing and has a transparent barrier at the start. There 3 outcomes in the battle, you, the player, deal the final blow to Selfy, Kaira deals the final blow to Selfy, or both of you lose the battle. If you deal the final blow, you kill her, and then Kaira fights you after being taken over by darkness. You must kill her too. If you let Kaira deal the final blow, Selfy and Kaira will be saved, and you can now use Kaira when ever you want. If you let Selfy kill both of you after destroying the barrier, Kaira will force the darkness out of her, through the power of love and friendship, and absorb the corrupted eye. As she does, you'll have to fight her while Selfy is unconscious. She will use her Signature Attack a lot, so if you cannot avoid instant death, you will lose. If you do defeat her, she will not die due to the power of darkness keeping her alive and she will regain control over herself. She will join your party with the function of the Eye of Kami which increases all her stats and giving her the high level magic compared to her default stats. Selfy joins to but is a unplayable character.

End Game - You find that Kaira decides to stay a man and stay with Selfy.

A "young" man who is actually far older than he looks. Is a support class character.
A sort of Engineer class character who uses mainly a crossbow (or a gun depending on time period of this game) as his weapon. Is rather useless with magic and can also use wrenches for a weapon.

Appearance: She used to be a messenger where she lived, and therefore always carried a duffel bag and messenger goggles with her. Is a fast runner because of what she does. When people see her she is often holding a sheathed white umbrella.

Special Skill: The umbrella is more than meets the eye; it can lift her off the ground and float along with the direction of the wind. When sheathed the umbrella also serves as a shot gun, and the bullets are sphere-shaped candies (which she sometimes can be seen eating). They deal decent damage however, due to the rapid speed when launched. When the umbrella is opened, it is a shield that can slightly block attacks (like returned gunfire)

Bio: Has 3 friends who either are protagonists or antagonists in the story (they may be NPC if you want, or if anyone wants to be one of them, by all means go ahead).
The three friends are either good or bad, but even if her "side" opposes them,
they are all still friends and do not take down each other.
As for her past itself, it stays unknown. Despite the fact that she is friendly and approachable, she does not want others knowing about her past, other than her three best friends.

if the whole party wipes, he can either revive them all or kill all the enemies (activates god powers) or just deals great damage by percentages xD
so it's like a safeguard xD (won't work with final boss?)
(he's basically a defensive character that tanks well but doesn't really attack cause of the ability?) so, essentially he does regular attacks but don't use any skills, cept like if you have ailments like poison etc he can have a skill that can temporarily protect from it

so yeah you can hide this character as a random NPC(basically taking off his wings unless you use a random sprite to hide it) or something until either the storyline gets to a part that's really hard or the player stumbles upon him
and after unlocking him with a quest or something

She's in one of the bigger towns hanging out in a corner, so you see her a bunch.
You have the option of giving her items.
Nevertheless, she gives the same response.
Her red eyes and pale skin unnerve some characters in the party, so they ask you to leave her alone if you spam talk to her.

Personally, I'd like Trigger to be an optional party member, possibly involving some sort of lengthy sidequest - an unlockable, if you will (meaning no real story significance required, merely an optional traveling companion to assist the party). Make it what you will, so long as it involves something from the Classic Mega Man universe, be it Life Energy, Weapon Energy, treats for Rush, Robot Masters that must be defeated, items Roll may have lost somewhere, etc. etc. etc. And speaking of Roll:

Sells high quality potions he created himself, and other strange... oddities.

Always on the road gathering ingredients, his potions are some of the best you can find anywhere, mostly because they were most likely made five minutes ago, then sealed in with magic for freshness. He also has a bit of a packrat impulse; You never know what else he'll have available for sale. As they say, one man's junk is another man's treasure, right?
