There's nothing saying that YOU can't invite new people, Splat. But unless this site gets a massive overhaul, complete with shifting its focus from being purely a Mabinogi fansite, the site will just continue to stagnate until Chise determines that the site just isn't worth running at all (meaning he found something else to use his servers for), in which case he'll just take down the site.

But at this point, the site's "survival" is up to the members, not Chise.

Yup all up to you guys. Unless mabi gets a major overhaul I'm done with it for the foreseeable future so any scraps of motivation I may have had to do anything with mabination are gone. Keeping it online doesn't add to my operating costs so I don't mind doing that.

I wish there was some way for us to bring this place back to speed but a lack of support from Nexon coupled with tough competition from the destroyer reddit really makes that an uphill battle. I'm still impressed with how well designed and functional mabination is compared to other sites (though GameFAQs is making a ton of progress).

GameFAQs is exceptionally good at being seemingly behind times (still wonder why they never used some sort slightly modern software like vBulletin...) as you said though +1 for keeping the site going and putting it out there for us in the first place
