Clarification on Vindictus Tokens

Greetings players-

We wanted to write an open letter to our community to address the recent confusion over the token system within Vindictus. Due to a bug within the game, tokens were being given every day. This was never intended, and following the bug fix during this week’s maintenance, tokens began properly replenishing every Monday and Friday at 10AM Pacific.

What we failed to consider was the amount of confusion this would cause for players who’ve come to expect an endless supply of tokens. Thus, from me and the entire Vindictus team, we sincerely apologize for how we handled this situation.

We should have done a better job of communicating this big change to our players, and so based on this issue, we are reviewing our posting process so that we can keep you better informed. We truly believe is how we can help you enjoy the game as much as possible.

In addition, as a sign of our gratitude to our players and our commitment to make Vindictus the best game, all Vindictus characters will receive 30 Platinum Tokens following the current maintenance.

Once the servers are back up, check your character’s mailbox to verify you received 30 Platinum Tokens.

Once again, on behalf of the entire Vindictus team, I would like to offer my apologies for any inconvenience that may have been caused and also say thank you to all of our players. We always value the feedback of our players and we hope to continue to make Vindictus the bet game it can possibly be.

Whats funny is they said earlier in beta that the unlimited tokens was intentional.

Perhaps they meant that the "bug" was how the fast token renewal continued even after OB started, when it was their true intention to change it to monday friday! >_> Iono... I'm just saying things to make myself feel better.

I think it's sad how much people complain in the forums. Everyone should have known that they were going to the normal token resets. It says it in game even.

It's really not as bad as everyone thinks. Especially once you have done all the instances in game so far. You can still go in all instances to farm stuff if you leave before boss. You can fish too. Go to the first map join parties with lvl 20+ lower then you and get Seals. Turn those in to get 10 extra tokens a day. Make one of the other classes.

I don't mind the normal reset. No, you can't farm AP hardcore anymore. I think you can progress too fast when the tokens reset all the time. I don't think it's fun when you can get max AP/lvl in a week...ok maybe not max AP, but just about. By max AP I mean have all skills maxed.

Problem is that the limit is only 7 dungeons a day.

I mean, thats ridiculous. I play and use it up in like two hours. If I tried, I could use it in 20 minutes, but no one is stupid enough to speed raid polar bears anymore of course.

When I have like 8 hours free on a weekend day, I want to play Vindictus.

Besides, the biggest issue in my personal opinion is that this completely breaks the community apart. You pretty much have to SCHEDULE a meet time with your friends to be able to play with each other, and if you and your friend aren't the same level, then you probably won't party together anyways because tokens are so valuable that you don't want to waste it helping each other out.

It still doesn't address the fact that there are players with 15k AP now because of the previous renewal. If a new player is starting out and is not going to spend NX on Platinum Tokens, then on average, 7 runs a day = 70 AP. 490 AP per week. 31 weeks to get past 15k AP, which is more than half a year, but the early access beta lasted only for 3 weeks, I think.

The change *back* to the original system screws over any new players who plan to get as much AP as the players who grinded during early access beta. Even the daily AP bonus isn't enough to "break even" the AP gap between the two playerbases. 50+45+40+35+30+25+20=245 AP per day or 1715 AP per week (which means 8 weeks to get to 15k AP, which by then the players with 15k will already be past that).
