Vindictus Not Starting

Ok, so I finally convinced my friend to try Vindictus. He makes his account, confirms it, logs on in the site and clicks West server...nothing happens. No matter what he tries, absolutely nothing, not even the hackshield starting up thing. It's definately not firewall blocking it, and he manually patched it from the site. Any suggestions on what he should try?

1. Uninstall Vindictus
2. Re-install Vindictus
3. Start Game
4. If website does not work, try launching it from C:\Nexon\Vindictus\Vindictus.exe
