My "J" key has been completely unhinged from my keyboard (Lenovo)

I still have both parts, but I cannot seem to hook it back on


Should I try to use hot glue (fear of damaging computer), somehow try to hinge it back on (which maybe will not work), or go somewhere to repair it?

This is on my laptop, which I only bought about a month ago


I think something happened to push it out; I could try to put it back in with difficulty

Yeah, if pushing back doesn't work I'd have it repaired. And ask your builder why they use such ****ty keyboards where keys fall out after a month of probably not particularly hardcore usage.

laptop keys should be popping in and out quite easily. Yay for flat keyboards, or whatever.

Picture of the keyboard itself and the key or something similar to them is an easy way to get them in.

By the way, do not damage the white squishy thing at all.

Hot glue is a bad idea, you should try popping out another key so you can watch how it goes on and off. I once took apart an entire keyboard just to clean it.

can't you press the squishy thing where the J was...? my brother's E is missing and you can press the thing and it works

But it looks cheapish and probably isn't as ergonomic or something.


Not that common keyboards are very ergonomic anyway.
