I just got back from an exercise in Arizona which lasted about two weeks. My flight worked 12 hour shifts with an hour of transit each day without weekends or holidays. The worst part was how freaking unorganized the whole thing was. I mean, i've seen worse conditions but this was back on home station.

We had a change of plans on the way back and I had to change my flight to one that left out a few hours earlier than originally projected.

I called up Delta in order to have them switch the flight and they said that the projected total was going to cost me around 420 dollars for a direct flight. The original round trip ticket cost was approximately $490 with a layover in Salt Lack City. I turns out that instead of switching the return flight, they simply purchased a second ticket in my name. Now I owe Delta Airlines roughly $910.

I was authorized approximately $3,000 dollars for the exercise and i'm pretty much breaking even thanks to the extra plane ticket.

I'm not a fan of the system which the military now uses in order to process travel allotments. Nearly everyone in my squadron has been having issues with it and the base finance department is just as clueless as we are.

If every field EX we grab ends up like this, I'm volunteering for honor guard.

That sucks :| Whenever I flew with Delta via Military I never had any problems. American airways on the otherhand... I think they're run by mob bosses or something, so sketchy
