So yea, I finaly reached the stage where I must go hunt stuff in a dungeon but after a few tries, I found out my melee character is no match for the skeleton. So I come here and ask, is there any good way to kill one or to survive one? Or is there anyone who could come help me defeat it?

terraria kinda demands you to be a bit range with melee as backup.

Not really equiped for ranging, but I use a frail as a melee weapon so I do get some range.
Problem is I usualy die after I reach half it's life. The time limit on potions get in the way.

Might want to get the Shadow Armor set. Increases melee abilities. Probably want to hunt for a Phaseblade or Blade of Grass. Those are the only things that's best if you're going a pure melee build for Skeletron. Best thing is to go range with a Demon Bow with Unholy arrows or Fire Arrows.

Oh and hunt around for buff potions. Ironskin, Regen Potions, Make soup, etc

Oh wait. You haven't beaten skeletron? I thought u were already in dungeon and had trouble with skeletons mobbing.

Well, demonite tier equipments are not too difficult to defeat. just grapple to the ground and spam your frail.
With demonite ores, make full shadow armor set and sell extras to npcs so you get enough gold for minishark.

Then buy at least 2 stks of bullets and kill skeletron's arms first, then it won't be able to do anything to you.

psh if you use heart statues, you might as well use cheat engine and set your current hp as 9999 and lock it at that.

Ah, I suggest you make some pots for fighting Skeletron. Ironskin + Recovery, plus a dual layer long platform setup works well enough. It's somewhat easier to just kill the hands first, then pick off the head after.

Update.
I followed the comment it said I should hurry and kill the hands first.


It suddenly became a really easy win >.<

I am also glad since I found the second tier Frail weapon in the dungeon on my first chest ^^ Gotta love the versatibility of frails attack paterns.


I got a new question through.
In Hardmode worlds, Corruption spread over more blocks than just dirt right? The same apply for Hollow. But what if I bring Hollow in a normal world, will it spread like the hardmode world or will it spread like normal world corruption?(dirt only)
