Do you use your starter Pokemon?
Or do you forsake them in favor of something better? Not talking about competitive battling, just during the game. I always use my starter mon from the time I get it till the end of the game and the post-story content.

I always use mine as-well. I recall trying not to once or twice, but failed and ended up using them regardless.

Never Again. Ever. I mean it.

Always. Even if competitively they aren't that great, because most people don't EV train their starters, it's still one of the better Pokemon you get during the main game. Of course, I'm also only talking about the original games of each generation. With Pokemon Yellow, I ditched the Pikachu I got from Prof. Oak, since Pikachu sucks in the games. If the starter Pikachu had different stats and moves from a regular Pikachu, then I would have used it even after getting the other starters from the game, but other wise, a weak Pokemon with crappy moves isn't very useful, aside from having it follow you and give you how it feels about you.
And of course, there's the special attachment to the Pokemon with it. I usually only nickname my starter Pokemon, unless there's a Pokemon that a friend can't get and wants to name it, but that doesn't count.
Click the spoiler, for you shall agree.

So much hate on Pikachu in Yellow. D:
Playing Yellow right now for nostalgia reasons and because I am bored. I might keep it, but IDK.

My starter has always been my strongest.
Edit: And I accidentally voted No...

I equally train all my Pokemon, but I do use my starter from start-finish-post-game. Likewise, I've seen people that only train their starter Pokemon to the point where it's 10-12 levels higher than the rest of his/her Pokemon, so I guess they're really committed to them.

Except for D/P/Pt, yes.
God, those starters were horrible.

I hated both the monkey and the turtle. Out of the three, the penguin was the best.

Typhlosion and Feraligatr ended up being the first Pokemon I always have used. My starter was always the strongest one at first, then I end up EV training all these things later on by using the starter -- And then I have a whole collection of things I can mix around.
