They're ghouls, I believe. Making them seems to be one of the common evil acts one can do.

in essence they are basically zombies though, even the apostles, they bite other things to turn others into them, and they eat humans, etc

actually, those ghouls don't seem to have the ability to "spread" the ghoulness.. They just eat living human (and possibly dead one) It's the bees that turned into ghouls those that didn't get eaten yet by the already ghouls people.


Anyway.. Kiritsugu has a really strong affinity to zombie encounter...

oh, yes that's true, but indirectly the situation all plays out like one of those zombie invasions

though in this episode,

I feel like Kiritsugu could've saved her without blowing the plane up,I mean the Windows seem like they'd be big enough for her to crawl out

also on other forums and stuff, people mentioned how "perfect" it was for this episode to be aired on Mother's Day <-<;

FFFFF Kiritsugu could've injected the plane with insecticides then killed off the Ghouls, if that's the case where Ghouls can't actually spread their ghoul-ness themselves

but I suppose you can excuse that with the fact that he's young and naive
